Root Can you downgrade?

Hi, I was thinking of flashing a different ROM to my phone, I'm on Oxygen 2.1.2 at the moment, running Gingerbread 2.3.4.

My baseband is 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27

Is it possible to downgrade back to Froyo, I though it'd be possible as you delete everything before you flash it right? And on a second note, if you flash a ROM, can it affect your radio, like flashing a ROM and you cant get a signal. I'm just wandering because I dont want to brick or break my Desire.

you can flash to any custom rom you want without an issue. its not the same as RUU official roms so you dont have a problem and can move to froyo whenever you want

Radios only get flashed if the rom contains a radio img in the flash package
afaik all roms that include radio say so on the main thread so dont be worried about it.
you wont get an unrecoverable brick as radio will not be flashed and you are not doing s-off
