Did it come to every where? I am in Maryland and I have not got it yet.
I don't know that I even got the OTA?!? Did it happen without users even knowing??
You know that China is controlling the Weather Channel like a handpuppet, and screwing with your weather map.So, one day into the ota update my gps still lags with finding its location...htc for facebook still gives me a constant "Sync is currently experiencing problems and will be back shortly" message...htc weather widget remains fickle about where it is (likes to still occasionally be in China by the way)...and I'm keeping my fingers crossed about this random reboot thing (so far, so good). Seems like the only thing I'm reading here has unanimously improved is the camcorder sound issue which, of course, is a good thing. Unless I'm mistaken, though, these other notables were supposed to all be addressed with this update, too, right???
Look, I'm not a chronic complainer by nature, and I do like this phone a lot, but come on. I know calls to Verizon or HTC will just meet with a factory reset directive, but the only thing that plan has ever introduced for me is just the inconvenience of having to restore all my original apps and settings. I don't download many apps by the way, but boy that Go SMS Pro for text messaging sure is sweet - works better than anything I've ever had on the phone and they are always aggressively improving and updating. (Whoops...sorry for the plug and pulling this off topic). I also am shy about ordering a replacement phone...could work even worse. Dubious OTA downloads and replacement roulette...it's like living in a gambler's paradise!
Oh well...sorry for the rant. I guess we'll wait it out for a fix for the fix(?). Meanwhile, your experiences may of course differ...especially west of the Mississippi and at higher elevations.

Well, I do have to say that the weather is lovely in that part of China today according to my weather widget...sunny and 73.
On another note...on the phone with htc support and they suggested I download the "gps test" app from the market to improve the locking in of location. You don't actually have to open that app - they say by simply having it, it stabilizes the whole gps situation. They also recommend clearing all data from maps and similar gps/location services and then rebooting. Sure enough, my gps does lock in pretty quickly now - so, I'm cautiously hopeful. As far as weather widget woes...they just giggle like idiots over at htc about this and confirm it is an android system wide flaw. The htc guy did say gingerbread is just around the corner for the thunderbolt, though, and very, very close. But, hey, let's not open that can of pastry right now!
I have yet to check for the update. I am surprised you felt the phone vibrate. I had my wife call me with the device set to vibrate only and couldn't feel a thing, and I was expecting the call and guess what---You guessed it---I missed the call. I'm afraid now to even update my device for I'm sure it is waiting. For Verizon to just sneak the update to the device seems devious. What if everyone didn't have computers, how would they know that an update was even there or even in the works for that matter? It's like saying download @ your own risk. Apps in the Android market let you know of update availabilities and some say Mandatory. So I take it that Verizon would consider this update pretty lame for then not to send notifications to their loyal and eager customers. They released the mighty Thunderbolt (IMO) a little too soon and late @ the same time. Meaning too late we all expected it in Feb. There were videos out demonstrating what it would do and be able to do. Sort of like a Political election. Released to soon for the facts it wasn't ready to perform the tasks and abilities it was built to do. Not enough testing we became the testers and that is why it has not yet fit the bill we all paid. Boasts of all the memory it would allow out the box, Skype intergration baked into the Sense UI, Battery issues delay after delay..LIE after LIE. Instead of the Phenominal HTC Thunderbolt we all got stuck with Verizon's Thunderbolt. I like my device for what it can do but hate the fact that it hasn't fulfilled itz boasted potential and therefore my expectations. It doesn't feel good to be or get suckered. I must say that out of all the 4G or so-called 4G devices out or coming out i don't feel too cheated. They (meaning HTC/Verizon) did not deliver what they advertised.I can actually attest to the random reboots as well. Had it in my pocket about 5 or 6 this evening, and all of a sudden it vibrated. Took it out of my pocket and was staring at the TB boot screen.
Then just now, about...10? It reboots again, just randomly. This ain't good. I thought it might have been a mistake but that can't be right.
The thing I'm worried about is that it'll take months for verizon to get off their duffs and fix it.
Mine is working great after the update yesterday! I see very few complaints out of 10s of 1000s of Thonderbolt owners is not bad.

Have you tried re clicking it after getting that service unavailable? I know I get it and when I click again it goes through. Might have to redo a few times. If not the other thread someone posted a how to to get it to find it.I tried checking for software updates but it tells me "Service Unavailable". Funny thing is I have service.
