Help Some live wallpapers make my screen unresponsive

The grass blades live wallpaper, I've never had issues with. But this one:

When I set wallpaper to this one, my screen becomes unresponsive. Was wondering if anyone has narrowed down how the nexus screen becomes unresponsive at times. Like I said, I have no issues with the static wallpaper or even using the grass live wallpaper, but using the wallpaper above makes the entire screen unresponsive at times and I 'think' it's sort of buggy.

I notice the phone definitely starts to lag a bit and become overall less "snappy" with live wallpaper on, especially that one.

That's a better description. And if you're impatient while it is laggy, you end up building more lag and the phone becomes nearly frozen on the screen you're on.

I won't use that live wallpaper as it really screws up my phone. Thanks for confirming a bit what I'm seeing.

The grass one is real nice. It's time sensitive, so its colors change according to the day/night cycle. I've never had a lock or lag with that one.

Something i've noticed when the screen becomes unresponsive is that my palm is actually hitting the screen while I hold the phone. The lack of multi touch leads to nothing happening when you try to make a selection on the screen.

Thats probably the real problem, lots of times i think things are messing up but its because my skin is some how touching the screen somewhere else.

I don't have problems with live wallpapers...at all, the phone runs as if they arent even live so theres definitely some other problem.

I've used "The Nexus" live wallpaper since i had the phone (yesterday i changed it to "Star field" though) and i've had zero problems.

+1 on the multi-touchING assumption as well. I've had issues similar to this while web browsing and often realize part of my left hand was grazing the screen while in landscape.

I wrote my own version of the Nexus wallpaper, I've had some people comment that it is more efficient and improves responsiveness of the home screen. It's a bit different and also adds lots of customisability
