Willing to make wallpapers

It depends on what you want done. I pretty much just make wallpapers & icons. I can't help with - Live wallpaper, packaging an entire theme, skinning widgets (although, if you can give me a just a .png to work with maybe I can help), How to best set-up and /or use home replacements or launchers etc. If you think what I do would help, lets hear it.

This tells me nothing of what you do want.

If you're asking if I'll guess what would look good with that wallpaper, find images and make an entire custom icon pack, well that's probably not going to happen.

If you have something specific in mind for a few icons (say for the dock icons), maybe I can help out. But I'll need to know in detail what you want.

I like solid color and pointed cats (I guess you can see that on my avatar) I prefer darker colors, blue, red, purple, black. I have an incredible and light colors eat the battery fast! Thanks!

OK Twiz, Here ya go. I hope this fits with what you had in mind. Let me know.

To save it in full 960x800 resolution, use the download button on the linked page or the share button to email it to an address accessible on your phone, then save the attachment. If your phone wont save it full size, or it looks fuzzy, download and save it with a computer, then USB or email the full sized version to your phone.

can you crop just subzero and make it fit the evo? i cant figure out the evo screen size in pixels. if you could also tell me how to resize it to fit the evo on my own i won't have to bother you lol. thanks alot

Subzero.jpg

Ok, here's my best shot at explaining what I think is the easiest way to size wallpapers. First, read how I described it to someone else -

Ok, here's the easiest way (I think) to do what you want. For your phone a wallpaper should ideally be 960wx800h. For a single screen 480x800.

Lets use this pic as a test run of what I do. Save this -
http://www.portwallpaper.com/imgwal/red-mirrored-room.jpg

Ok - Now go to .: Sumo Paint 3.5 :. (This is the online image editor I like best).

Go to > file > open from my computer, and find and select the above jpeg. This will not be in the correct size, obviously. Now go to the image menu > image size. Since it's clear that you will have excess width, let's not worry about that yet. Check the "constrain proportions" box, and set the height from 768 to 800. This will change the image size from 1024x768 to 1066x800, the correct height for your phone. From here, you could start cropping width to try to get it to the right size, but a much easier way is to go to the select menu, select all, then the edit menu and copy. Now go to the file menu and hit new image and in the box that pops up set the width to 960 and the height to 800. Next go to edit > paste, and your done. To save use the file menu the save to my computer and save as jpeg or png.

I know this sounds like a lot, but trust me, it's much easier that it was to describe. ;) If you need any further clarification, just let me know.
OK, got it? Here's step by step how I did yours. First I found a larger, hi-res version to work with so it would look less pixelated. Here's the one I used - http://www.mosaicwallpapers.com/wallpapers/1280x1024/Sub-Zero-Character_1280x1024_2809.jpg

Next I opened Sumo, hit "Open from URL" and pasted the image address. So now I have a 1280x1024 image to work with. The ideal size for your phone is 960x800, so I go to the Image menu, select Image size and make sure "constrain proportions" and "smoothing" are checked. Now I'll want to change the size of either the height or width, whichever one results in leaving extra on the other. Doing this lets me crop as little as possible without distorting the image. In this case, I'll change the height to 800 giving me a new size of 1000x800. Correct height, but still too wide.

For the next step, go to the "Select" menu and hit select all. Now go to the "Edit" menu and hit copy. Next go to the "File" menu and open a new image sized at 960x800. Now go to the "Edit" menu and hit paste. You can move the image around a little side to side to center the part you want. And there you have it, ready to save (in the File menu) as a .PNG or .JPG.

Here's my final result from the above steps. Hope all this helps!

The wife wanted this one in pink and purple, so I figure I might as well post 'em up. Maybe someone else will want them too.

To save them at the full 960x800 resolution, use the download button on the linked page or the share button to email them to an address accessible on your phone, then save the attachment(s). If your phone wont save them full sized, or they looks fuzzy, download and save them with a computer, then USB or email the full sized version(s) to your phone.

Hey gang - I've been working on an icon set, and I could use a couple of people to test out the first few and let me know they look on their phones. I can only test 'em out on my Hero (god forbid I mess with the wife's Evo or tablet! :(:p). If they look nice, and there's interest, Ill keep making more of them and post the set for everyone.

Here's a preview of the 16 I've done so far (the text labels are not on the actual icons...)
Click to view full size ↓

Each one is in 2 sizes - 128x128 & 72x72 - as those seem to be the most popular.

If you're interested, reply here and I'll PM you a link to the zip file.

TIA.

Hi eyebeam. Could you do a Lamborghini Aventador wallpaper for a HTC Desire, please?

Any colour car although I'd rather it not be orange. And I would like something which shows off the shape of the car but I trust in your artistic instincts so whatever you think looks good(and is convenient for you) is fine.

Sure, I can do that. I assume by orange you mean the red-orange most of the seem to be. For instance -
http://newscarquotes.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/2012-Lamborghini-Aventador-LP700-4-.jpg

Correct me if I'm wrong - I'm partially color blind. If that is the color you don't want, I can make most of those a dark silver (which it does seem to come in, but quality pics are few and far between) if that's cool with you.

Also, any thoughts on a background, or should I just wing it?

Get back to me and I should have something for you tomorrow.

I do mean the orange that they usually come in but that link you posted is quite a unique shade of red. Very fiery. I've never seen that before. I don't mind that but i think i'd prefer your silver or any other color.

I'm not sure about the background so whatever you think looks good.

I'll play with the eyecons (see what i did there, lol) hook it up.

Also 2 questions: Whenever i re size a screenshot from computer it looks horrible. Lose ALL quality, tried doing it by percentage AND pixels in Paint. I use Paint cause it is the quickest to access on pc but not sure if it just sucks at this or if it is user error:D (sorry to hijack)
oh yea, 2nd: did you use my dropbox referral?

1 - Damn! I should have thought of naming them that. Nice. OK, PMing you a link for the zip file. Any feedback/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. And thanks a ton!

2 - God, I haven't used Paint in years, but are you saving them as a .png? Might help. I use SumoPaint (online) & GIMP (offline) for 99.5% of the ones I do, and I think the results are satisfactory. Sumo is almost as quick and easy as Paint, I'd say. For a (rambling & possibly incomprehensible) explanation of how I resize in Sumo, see: http://androidforums.com/android-themes/92348-willing-make-wallpapers-52.html#post2678948

Sumo: .: Sumo Paint 3.5 :.
GIMP: GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program

3 - Yes, I did use your referral. I needed a place to upload zip file for the icons. Thanks!

4 - Could you get to the bottom of what's going on with this thread lately? First it was listed in a themes guide thread that was stickied, then that was removed. Then is was renamed, then stickied and now un-stickied? It all seem a little... odd.

Well, I'm really glad you'd prefer the silver, as I'd already put some work into changing it. :p;) Alright, I'm on it. Check back later today.

Woah! I'm speechless. I knew you were good but I never knew you were that good. That's a really creative choice of background.

Thanks a lot, mate. It's much appreciated.

another stealing my wallpapers! hahaha well they are THAT good :D

Ha, funny! Don't get too riled up yet. So far, he hasn't gotten back to me with a screeshot (or even just a guess as to how to line it up). Your intellectual property is safe - for the time being... Tick, tick tick. :p

to be fair its not 'mine' per sey...

you created it, designed it etc so its actually 'yours' by copyright or something like that...

I just was the spark for it....

and the actual coloured background credits would actually be HTC as thats an official HTC one just tweaked by you..

One tiny nitpick, eyebeam. Is it possible to change the glow effect around the car? It looks fine on my PC but on the phone it kind of makes the car look like it was stuck on to the background rather than blending in with it.

Got cha. I was iffy about that glow myself. while I was at it, I also put the car at a slightly better (hopefully) angle. See if this works better for you.

Perfect. I don't know if it was the angle change but the front wings and bonnet of the car look better now too.

Another thing I noticed is that it looks even better(fantastic actually) in landscape mode but I have to drag the wallpaper up to bring the car into focus. I can crop it myself but do you know of a way to set a different wallpaper for landscape and have it automatically switch between wallpapers when I turn the phone?

Cool, glad you think it's better.

As far as an app that let's you change wallpaper views from portrait to landscape, I know of no such thing. I've not used it, so I have no idea if it'll do what you want, but someone posted a thread about "Wallpaper Wizardrii" that was titled something like "all your wallpaper problems solved!". Might be worth a shot.

Hello Eyebeam, I'm not sure if your still making wallpapers for the HTC EVO 4G but, I'm looking for a good Freemason Wallpaper and/or Scene. If you can't, Thank You anyway.

Hello, and welcome to AF. Sure, I'm still making all kinds of wallpapers. I don't know if you saw them, but I've made a few Mason wallpapers previously. Maybe you'll like one.

To save them in full 960x800 or 960x800 (depending on which you choose) resolution, use the download button on the linked page or the share button to email it to an address accessible on your phone, then save the attachment. If your phone wont save it full size, or it looks fuzzy, download and save it with a computer, then USB or email the full sized version to your phone.

If those aren't doing it for you, can you describe what you might like? The more you can tell me, the better.

One other thing - I'll be out of town all of tomorrow, so it'll be sometime on Tuesday before I can get anything done.
