Root i failed on flashing LeeDrOiD_HD_V2.2.3

well i used the restore method and it worked but is there any one who can tell me step by step on how to flash a custom rom.
step one i used fullwipe.zip worked fine
step 2 i selected install rom from sd card i selected LeeDrOiD_HD_V2.2.3
well it wouldnt install it said aborted. My phone is working good but i want to put this rom on it or something simple. Is there any one who can tell me all the files i need for this rom like the patch and the kernel i appreciate any and all help i have been given but im a noob at heart when it comes to flashing. thank you all in advance. My main reason for this is the unlocking ect battery life cool features and oh god the block buster app is gone

I don't run leedroid so idk if the newest version does anything special but what i do from flashing from one rom to another is:

1. Boot into recovery
2. Wipe data and cache
3. Wipe Dalvik cache (In the advanced menu)
4. Flash rom

That's pretty much the basic procedure when flashing from one rom to another.

is gingerbread easy to install it looks cool but no htc sense but im not sure if i really need the sense

It's all about personal perference. There are custom sense roms that have gingerbread+sense. There are AOSP roms that have stock android gingerbread. It's up to you to chose which is for you, so i would say try different roms.

This is exactly what I did and it worked. Note though that my phone was rooted when I got it. How I don't know exactly since I got it used.
