Just some info that might be useful to some of you using Norton Firewall suite...
Was upgrading my firmware using Kies and USB cable. All went ok until my S2 restarted at which point Norton (SONAR feature) kicked in on my PC and blocked the following:
E:\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\SAMSUNG\KIES\EXTERNAL\FIRMWAREUPDATE\GT-I9100\BINARYLOADERMGR.EXE
After that the S2 just sat there waiting. No choice but to disconnect cable and remove battery from S2 to restart.
Luckily the trusty S2 was ok after that and I could restart Kies and relaunch the upgrade after DISABLING Norton SONAR. People with other types of Firewall might want to also think about disabling (temporarily - as I wouldn't want any badies to infect your PC!) anything firewall-wise that might cause the same problem.
