Root enjoying foxtrot

be warned if you try this rom, I cannot get back into cwm recovery, D2 bootstrap wont install, working on getting my dx bootstrap on the sdcard to see if installs.

Edit: DX bootstraper wont install either. Rom manager says it installs cwm but it wont reboot into it.

Its a nice ROM, but f*** it making itself so you cant take it off.

I've been running this since yesterday afternoon and it's the smoothest custom rom I've seen (I've tried just about all of them). Absolutely no issues at all. Installed over .595 (rooted/deodx) with no wipe. Clockwork/bootstrap works perfectly. Some, but not all, metamorphs work (i.e., notification icons/lock sliders). Definitely worth a try, at your own risk.

Yea, I prolly just had a bad flash at no fault of the rom, was very annoying tho lol.

Installed FT and it worked fine. I wasn't able to select the blur launcher as my default for some reason. Additionally, it deleted what I consider the best parts of gingerblur, so I'm back at gingerblur stock.

What I've also noticed is that I am also unable to restore backups of GB. I have to sbf back to 340 first and go through the process. This makes me more reluctant to play around.

I have this same problem. I did discover you can after flashing you can just restore the data.img for your saved backup folder and be almost back like u were.

I started a thread with the details.

You can restore backups Steven. What you have to do is restore your backup (you will most likely have a whole bunch of force close issues, that's if it even boots to the OS) and then get back into CWR (before wiping/starting over) and apply the deodex zip I made for .595.

The only setback is that you will lose any mods you applied, like CRT and 270 degrees rotation, but you will keep all your data just like it was before. You can simply re-apply whatever mods you had on it before, which should be pretty simple to do :D

When you restore a backup that has been modded (sometimes restoring a backup that hasn't been modded/stock backup, and even in some cases, the untouched initial install of the deodexed .595 fails in the same manner) it breaks the deodex for some reason.......my deodex zip file simply re-deodexes your system and fixes any issues caused by restoring the backup.

weird lol, big difference flashing this phone compared to a lil cheapo ascend lol.

Why can't you restore your nandroid, flash the deodexed file, then boot into your rom? :D

When you restore a backup that has been modded (sometimes restoring a backup that hasn't been modded/stock backup, and even in some cases, the untouched initial install of the deodexed .595 fails in the same manner)...

You can a restore stock GB backup, and it works fine, but if you try to apply a mod or a theme to that backup (not sure if it always does, but for me it always has, and I know it has for kirbnite and cougar214) you get the same results of FC issues or not booting to OS.

ExACTly! I noticed when I messed with the framwork file with anything that you wrote, I couldn't restore the nandroid. Perfect advice. Thanks!

I gave this ROM another shot this early am and well I just dont think it likes me much lol. It installs fine, or seems so. no DX or D2 bootstrap, and when I try to install anything it reboots. I dont do anything any different than I do with any other rom, so I do not know what its deal is, or mine. Anyhow this ROM is a nogo from me.

I would like to attempt a pure AOSP Rom for the DX. I have the repo set up along with gihub. My issue now is learning what I need for/from the DX to build it and it function correctly. Anyone with any pointers plz post up or PM me.
