New HTC Hero CDMA, can't root!

Ok once again I've seen threads like this before, but this situation is different. Maybe someone knows something about this new HTC Hero that I don't know about.

I just replaced my phone HTC Hero cdma via Asurion. Just got it today.
Software Information:
- Firmware 2.1 update 1
- Based Version 2.42.02.10.29
- kernel 2.6.29
- Build Number 2.32.651.2 cl282911 release-keys
- Software number 2.32.651.2
- PRI 2.65_003
- PRL 60671>>>>>this is the only difference between the new hero and the old hero old hero PRL 60678

Now this is what is happening. I rooted via z4root just like I did my previous Hero (which it work perfect) So the Super User app appear in my app list (great) I downloaded Titanium Backup, and Rom Manager (Premium and free version). try to open Titanium backup (root access failed) open Rom Manager restore from sd card, select the rom, nothing happens. Download Rom, pick CyanogenMod>CyanogeMod 6.1 (downloaded but I can't install it)

In other words is like is rooted, but I can't use the apps that only work with rooted phones.Every time I try to install the new rom, it boots up to its normal status, (HTC sense, And of course (it is sooooo slowwwww) It takes like a minute to load anything. It even goes all the way to the (Pre_Installation prompt> press ok to reboot into recovery and continued installatin>ok and nothing happens. I have rooted my previous HTC hero with no problem at all. I don't know why is this phone is giving me such a hard time.

Any help will be appriciated. I love Hero rooted and with different rom, I hate Hero like it is right now.

You need to flash a recovery image, open your Rom Manager and flash the recovery
