Root caulkins wipe all

So ok. Point and laugh, but I'll ask....

Just copy that to SD, reboot, boot to that rom, and....? Or should I have that rom and the rom that I plan on using, boot to wipe rom, wipe, and then boot to new rom?

I ask, because my first try at a rom failed, and thankfully i had backup. I think it has to do with the fact that I didn't do a wipe... =]

ok so this is me pointing and laughing hahahahahah! just kidding lol:D

anyways this is not a rom it is a file that wipes system, cache and dalvik cache for you.

so for me this is what i do when i flash a rom.
1.make a nandroid backup
2.wipe system, cache, and dalvik cache
3.flash caulkin's format all .zip
4.flash rom of your choice.

flashing caulkin's is just an extra step. i just want to make sure that the rom has a clean slate to install into.

oh hell no man!! we arent gonna point and laugh. we'd only do that if evom came in here and asked that. you should read my firsst couple posts... we all started somewhere bro. this is a friendly forum. we are here to help and learn :) this may sound cheesy, but the only dumb question is the one not asked. dont get me wrong, you might get directed to a thread that has your answer from time to time thatll require you to read up on some stuff, but lets just say that happens and you still cant quite figure it out, youd then come back into a thread and say that you tried reading xyz thread and believe that the answer is zyx, but youre still having issues and i guarantee someone will give ya the answer you seek. welcome to the forum man!! i think youll find this place to be waaaaay more awesome that you yet realize!

I have no idea what you are talking about lol but I'm on phandroid so I don't see a big blue thing...

Any rom you download will go onto your sd card/external so wiping internal won't affect it. After you wipe internal you flash the rom from the external. it takes the rom zip, unzips it, and writes it you to your internal partitions. You can delete the zip when done if you like even...

kinda, mostly people partition to add to system memory without interfering with the "hard drive" aspect of the sd card. youd partition a gig or so if the sd card for system usage, the rest for other stuff(i.e. music, movies, pics of yo mama(jk) ) the evo was released at a time where internal system memory wasnt what it is today, so the addition to the system memory is the main reason that comes to mind for me
