HTC just announced the Holiday 3D on at&t. Surprisingly its superior to a phone they announced, but havent even released yet, the Evo 3D. This phone is going to have an edge on the Evo 3D. It runs Android 2.3.4, has dual 8MP cameras, 3D 720p recording, 1080p 2D recording, a dual 1.2 or 1.5 ghz processor (not sure but it's a more recent one than the Evo 3D's), front facing 1.3 MP camera, and a 4.5" qHD resolution glasses free 3D display.

Are you sure? All the reports I've said have said nothing about it having a 3D screen. It has the same processor as the 3D, and the 4.5" qHD screen, but when they say dual cameras, they're referring to the front facing and rear, not two on the rear...unless something updated has come out.

Just one example:
HTC Holiday specs leak, huge 4.5 inch display included

Edit: Here's one that says dual 8MP cameras, but nothing about 3D at all...

If you want a little more info, google HTC Holiday 3D.

The 3D part appears to be an incorrect interpretation of "dual eight-megapixel and 1.3-megapixel cameras"...meaning two cameras in total, not two 8MP. A more recent article from same site says "...Holiday features a 1.3-megapixel front camera and an 8-megapixel rear camera." (The second link you reference uses the article from your first link as a source, so they probably screwed up the 3D too...I messed up to the first time I read it).

So I doubt it's 3D. Same processor and Evo 3D so whether its clocked at 1.2 or 1.5, who knows. But I do like the 4.5" screen and potential LTE capability.

And what phone isn't obsolete shortly after it's released?

I question your definition of the word 'obsolete.'

lol, I was just coming to post the same thing. Let's say that it is 3D (for arguement's sake), the only pluses over the 3D would be a higher MP camera (which I think the MP myth has been pretty well debunked here), and .2" larger screen. Oh, and as a big minus, runs on AT&T, which for me, is actually a minus compared to Sprint.

Still, to each his own. Does look like a nice piece of kit.

Even if it is a hair better...that would force you to jump over to AT&T. I'll stick with big red before I'll go over there.

And as previously mentioned, Novox has debunked the more MP = better picture concept. A .2" increase in screen size isn't a big enough deal to me to make it better in any way. If anything, just means it will be too big. And once again, you'll be on AT&T

Another one mentioning 3D display:
AT&T HTC Holiday 3D Exposed | At & T Cell Phones

If these articles are wrong about the phone having 3D capabilities, then I guess I'll have to switch carriers.

Yes, it appears all the articles you are posted eventually lead back to the original Pocket... site post. And since that site later did a post on a single camera, the 3D spec appears to be based on a bad case of the "Internet Telegraph" game.

And all the articles are based on a alleged source file dump that only shows a single rear camera (at least there is no indication of dual rear cameras).

Well I'm currently on AT&T on the iPhone 3GS. My contracts almost over (either June or July) and I want a 3D phone. The LG Thrill won't cut it for me.

So on the sites I listed for the articles, there was a more recent one that didn't mention 3D capabilities, and I guess that means I should get the evo 3D

Interesting. I'll never go to AT&T though. Worst service at my house.

With that coming out, it keeps me on the fence with regards to upgrading or just waiting another year and sticking with my current EVO. Just shows you how rapidly phones have better specs one after the other, within a month or 2.

Gone are the days where you can just be content that what you got will last you for at least 2 years before it's outdated. Even with computers, it's a year-to-year progression, as supposed to back in the late 90's early 2000's.

I left ATT for Sprint. We'll see how it goes.....as I won't know till I get this phone.

See how what goes?

In 2007 AT&T got the iPhone, and at the time it really was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Sprint had nothing to compare at the time. Actually, every phone on Sprint sucked till 2009 and the HTC Hero, and things really turned around in 2010 with the Evo.

There is a reason why Sprint lost millions of customers after the iPhone dropped, but I still stuck with Sprint and now I am a Gold status customer that gets annual upgrades.

So there is no way in hell at this point I would consider leaving Sprint for an AT&T phone that may have a marginal advantage over the HTC Evo3D.

Yup I actually left ATT because they were raping me with their over priced service and lack of 3G coverage. At this time last year I couldn't even get 3G in Sate Fe on a business trip with my Iphone. So I bought out of my contract and sold the phone and went to prepaid until I could get a beefy phone and coverage.

From all I have heard about Sprint the customer service is better than the other 2. I'm coming in with fingers crossed and hope to stay with them for a long time. ATT was more interested in my money than me being a satisfied customer.

I am licking my chops for the EVO 3D release :D

Everything I've read about the Holiday suggests it is the Sensation with a slightly larger screen but certainly NOT a 3D enabled handset.

Frankly, it's bad enough HTC are introducing a replacement/successor for the Sensation which has only just gone on sale, but if they are looking at another 3D phone before the Evo 3D even hits the shelves, that is madness.
