Root Leaked Gingerbread RUU

I think the camcorder works on the rear camera, you just can't save pictures.

I understand this is still a dealbreaker for most.

Correct...

To be clear, right now the rear camera will only capture video. No still images.

The front facing camera works for both still images and video.

I'm pretty sure there will be a fix for this soon, the RUU just droped today and there are a lot of devs digging into it as we speak. If you can't stand not having a camera, I would hold off for a few days until they can get it working.

It looks like it is something with the GB software and how the rear camera interacts with the SD card. No camera apps are currently working with it. So again hold off if you must have the camera...

Now with that said... I flashed the other Rom (the stock deblooted one) and all I can say is.. WOW!!! Very nice and the added features in Sense 2.1 are very nice. Overall it is working great for me. I can live without the camera for a few days.

Also Adryn and ThatDudeButch have already said they are hard at work on a new DasBAMF... :)

Here's an example of a phone manufacturer leaking a ROM to get development assistance from the root community.

"Hey Fred, I can't get the rear camera to work with the 2.3 ROM."

"Thats okay Tom...just leak it and see what those guys can come up with."

:D

LOL, yep!

Ok one problem I'm having currently is that I can't get my Google Calendar to sync, keeps giving me a google apps force close when it tries.

screw a camera! im downloading now. :D guy at work just installed the virus GB on his evo and it looked pretty sweet. im sure the TB version will be out in no time

I was just looking at his thread and from what he's been saying I'd expect to see it drop sometime this evening. I'm kind of bummed HTC hasn't released their new kernel code yet. My Stripped setup is so filthy right now I don't know if I can switch to something without being able to flash one of Imoseyon's kernels

xda-developers - View Single Post - [Kernel] leanKernel: minimalistic kernel, v2.5.1 (sense 5/16/11, cm7 5/16/11) :)

im running it now(flashed last night) and so far rosie has hung up a couple times(adw still works) until i force stop it. other than that, seems to be running quite smoothly

will report more later.

I just saw this earlier. Pretty impressive considering the code hasn't been released yet

I wish they would have listed what bugs they're trying to work out. I think I'm going to wait for an official release.

I'm surprised Virus hasn't released his build yet. He was hyping it like it was almost done and ready to go yesterday

Imoseyon released a quick kernel for the GB builds. Fixes the camera (still no preview but it will save the pictures to the SD card...) Seems to be working well for people, going to flash it now.

Oh and somehow the Calandar issue fixed itself, I can now see all my Google Calandar stuff and no force closes when it tries to sync. Weird... but I'll take it.

Can't wait for BAMF, TDB put out a very early alpha to tie some people over. However nothing official until later.

Imo's kernel is based off of his 1.92 basic leankernel and it rocks. So far it works very well with the basic debloat GB leak.

I can't wait for a stable 2.3 to be released , I miss 2.3 from my Incredible soo much enough so I"ve thought about going back to the incredible a couple of times . I seem to have a ton of problems with 2.2 on my thunderbolt that I never had with CM7 on my Incredible
The Inc isnt 4G so there was no need to intergrate lte into it making it a lot more stable...once they iron out the ril issues CM will be more stable and then u will see also a lot of other roms that are waiting for the merge of the ril such as any asop and miui roms...
