Well, I just flashed CM7 v: 05142011

I set up an EXT partition 512/32(for Swap)

I AM BLOWN AWAY, I didn't think it would work as well as it is. I figured before I get it too nice and personalized test moving the DALVIK OVER also, that was a main goal. So, according to TIt BU, my Memory:

(Weird now since this flash I have 4 lines of memory info):

System ROM 178 (72 Free) - This was never there b4, and hasn't changed w/ any app addition or changes, it just is what it is I think

INTERNAL: 198 MB ( 180 FREE) !!!!
SD CARD: 7.45 (7.27 Free) no much on there yet, song/pic wise, 8G card, but 512 for a2sd and 32 for swap

SD CARD(a2sd): 479 MB (348 FREE)

All appears to be running fine.

I flashed DT's a2sd with the signed zip, right after flashing the rom. Now in the Applications options it still says "Move to SD" ? Since DT's method tricks the phone to thinking it's on the phone, so just don't hit that and all good.

Just thought I would post since it seems totally successful....

Keep u posted if there are problems. CM7 is NOT listed on DT's FB as a supported ROM, BUT I noticed that list was made B4 CM7 was done.

Good luck...take care...Jeff

cm7 already has a2sd, so why would you need to flash DT's a2sd script?

Pressing that "Move 2 SD" button" is not NEAR as efficient, it seems. BUT more importantly, why did "I" do it.

I wanted to MOVE the Dalvik Cache to the SD, it saved nearly 100MB.

There are other apps to do that, but I Know this works, need to have class 4 minimum card for speed, otherwise it could slow you down.

RIGHT NOW: I don't have a TON of apps but >15-20 and I have:
INTERNAL: 198MB (167 MB FREE) !!!

From my understanding darktremors moves all apps. CM7 has some apps that will not move. So in theory you can save more space on your phone by using darktremors. Again this is my understanding of it. I know this is what was used on the icarus rom, which moved all apps.

One BIG difference, DT's you create an EXT partition (CM7 supports EXT 3 or 4, Icarus was EXT2), just in case your not aware (NOT being offensive, I just don't know your level of knowledge on this? I'm weak myself, but know a little Linux). Regular "move to SD" moved to the SD, but in the FAT32 partition.
With DT's, you create the EXT partition and that is where the app goes(That's why you don't see it when you just look in file manager on the SD). Android is made with Linux which uses the EXT file system btw.

Now: Icarus, no problems AT ALL. I admit out of ALL the apps I played with, I found maybe 1 or 2 that gave me issues.

When you hear of apps not being able to go to SD, that was more for the Froyo or Gingerbread method (pressing that button), not this. BUT, I did have 1-2 problems, BUT they were Bull-Sh#$ apps, funny thing 1 of them I tried the next day again and it went right on.

Now also, I will tell you, when or IF you ever have to pull that card to change or flash a new ROM. MS WINDOWS WILL NOT recognize the EXT partition. If you goto computer, right click, hit manage, it will say "Unknown partition" IF you format the Card w/ windows, it will format only the FAT32 part.

You kinda need to go to Linux OS and used a program (already on there), called gparted, remove the ext make it one big partition again and go.

When you have problems it's a F'in mess to deal with, but RARE.

IF you have questions or want the file to flash and try it, or whatever, just ask. (PS: email just incase: spyder5157@gmail.com) Just remind me about this, as I get quite a few, BUT
I answer ALL MY EMAILS so, feel free.

OK....Hope that book I wrote helped......All the best...Jeff

PS: Tokenpoke-if your reading....how about this one! I couldn't stop writing....so damn long, I'm addicted to writing the book...LOL

Sorry it so long, I just have a thing, I often use voice dictation (Dragon Dictate on the PC), and I can just FLY thru and they end up really long. Even if I type, I can at about 75 wpm, so I put ALL the details and they get long. Better than having to revisit 10x right?

OK...take care...Jeff
