The last version (7.1.0-RC3-11.05.15 (2.3.4)) is great. I don't have any problems with it. Actually it is pretty easy to flash another version of CM7 as it's done with an update.zip file and you don't lose your data. Takes less than 5 minutes to change CM7 rom (that is including shutting down and rebooting the phone).

Never tried the official 2.2 rom from Motorola, but from what I've read about it it's quite laggy and buggy.

YOu don't have to flash the GOT 2.2 sbf since you already have 2.2 running on your phone. Just need to root, copy Openrecovery (Androidiani openrecovery is recommended) and update.zip to the root of your sd card and put a CM7 zip in /sdcard/Openrecovery/updates. Reboot in recovery mode and apply the update.
Follow above link to have a detailed guide.

I've found no bugs yet. Just try it and get back to the stock rom (or CM6 which is Froyo) if you don't like it.

Got it up and running with the newest build of CM7 and I have found it more bad than good. CM7 has issues running some of my games such as Need For Speed Shift and 9 Innings Baseball (this one won't even load even after multiple attempts at uninstalling and re-installing). It also has issues with Titanium Backup. CM7 is always cutting out when trying to do batch recoveries and eeven single recoveries of almost all apps. It didn't even fix the wifi issues that I have been having.

can you give me setp by step instructions to port the thing u have done..
i havent rooted my phone and i am having official froyo..!

thanks
The issue I was having was related to cm7 not playing games properly from the SD card. When I moved them into the phones internal memory the games worked fine. If you are looking for the cm7 mod, use the guide on this forum.

I'm not playing games on my milestone, so don't know about that but happy to read you got a fix.

For Titanium Backup: have you overclocked your milestone? I had a similar problem with SMS backup. Every time i tried to backup it would just close after a few seconds. Turned out my vsel was too low. As soon as I put it higher i never had that problem again.
I don't have problems with Titanium backup.

It wasn't closing, it was falling back to its home screen. I would be restoring something and that would work, but it would then go back.

Hmmm, could be the same problem. the sms back up app just closed, but there are no other screens it can fall back too either. :)

Did you overclock or not?
If not, maybe reinstalling the app might help.
