Has anyone noticed notification sounds in the earpiece while you are on a call? I was talking to my dad last night while an e-mail came through. I heard the e-mail notification in the earpiece. My dad said he did not hear anything. It was very loud when it happened. I have not had an e-mail come through while on a call today so I'm not sure if this was a one time thing.

Also, how did an e-mail come through while on a call? Doesn't that go against the no voice and data at the same time? Or is that just internet?

Ah ha!!!! I never thought about WiFi. I was getting poor reception in my house so I switched to WiFi.

But, I still shouldn't have heard the notification sound while I was on a call.

Why shouldn't you hear it while on a call? It might be different from phone to phone, but I definitely hear them on my Droid Pro. I think it's nice to have since I'm not likely to see a notification light or the notification bar while talking on the phone. I can switch the call over to the speaker and check it while continuing to talk. Very handy for emails/texts/other notifications.

I can see where you are coming from here, but the sound was loud enough that I could not hear what my dad was saying when the e-mail came through. I had to have my dad repeat what he said. The fact that it was that loud is what bothered me the most. If was just a subtle sound in the background it wouldn't have been so bad.

I haven't noticed that yet, but agree that would be annoying. What bothered the person on the other end with the Incredible 1 (not sure if the 2 is the same way) is with the Yahoo Mail client, incoming emails vibrate the phone. From what I am told, that vibration is heard very loudly by the person on the other end of the call.

It funny you mention that. Before I got my Inc2 yesterday, I was talking to my brother on my Inc1 (we were activating the CPO Inc1 he just got) when an email came through. All of the sudden he says "what was that?" Before then I had never seen that happen on my Inc1. As far as the audio notifications coming through on a call, I had seen them on my Tbolt (returned for the Inc2). It was very annoying as the previous poster said, it was almost the same volume as the caller.

You would think they could set it to be less intrusive to the call being placed. But then I suppose whatever they do someone will have an issue with it.

OP - is it the normal notification sound you would get when not on a call? I can see a short tone or beep, but if it starts playing Rhianna S&M ringtone, you're in trouble. My Dinc1 used to always get comments from callers that it sounded like a duck was quacking on the line. Anyhow, my Droid Pro gives a short quick beep for a notification while on a call, and it's just in the earpiece, not the speaker.

Yes, it's the same sound that would play if I'm not on a phone. And yes, it was in the earpiece, not the speaker. I have a P51 engine sound as my e-mail notification. So while on the phone I had that blasting my ear.

And like vzwuser76 stated. it was close to the same volume my dad was talk at.

Ok, now I can see how that would be annoying. I just get a faint beep for my notifications.

Yeah, that does stink. Did you happen to install any separate notification apps or ringtone apps? Grasping at straws here, no idea if that might be the trouble. Is the ringtone from an app like zedge? Maybe change it to a stock tone, reboot and change it back? Battery pull?

Don't know about the OP, but I'm completely stock (other than using Ringdroid to create ringtones).

Is there a setting to toggle vibration vs. audible notification? My previous phone did the audible alert but I just picked up a used phone and it vibrates on an incoming text while I am in-call. It was a used DINC2 so I did a full reset but it still does it. Any ideas where the settings for this are?
