I am aware there are a couple of threads talking about the upcoming update of the A500 to 3.1 from various sources, but this was just posted by Acer itself on its Facebook page:

Acer
Great news for the lucky owners of Acer Iconia Tab A500! The update to Android 3.1 will be available at the end of June! Stay tuned for the date of release, in the meantime see the new features in the official Android developers

Late June sucks. That means a month and a half at least of waiting for a sleep mode fix, which means a lot of accumulated returns for Acer.

Not to mention me being stuck with my gTablet until then :(

Aint' buying a third A500 until it is confirmed the sleep mode issue is fixed.

Oh no, your buying another one lol? Scary to think you will hang around bashing the Iconia to dust. Rush you will not be happy. Now here you are bashing them for not even releasing an update to your liking. The way I see it is that you bought this tablet to bash it. And even now that you don't own it, you are still bashing it. I call foul Rush. Sorry but you are way over invested in these threads here and at xda to be just another jafo. I think you have other modus here. Your fix for wifi was simple, yet Rush can't afford it. Your sleep mode issue on second device showed anger issues since same thing we all go through. We are waiting on an update, suddenly updates coming and or announced seem to get to you. It seems that you want people taking back their units. If you don't own it now, you have no vested interest in the Iconia, thus no need to keep bashing it. The more you stick around bashing it the more you look like a paid disinfo agent lol. I know u are big time poster, but these posts of yours are very subtle in bashing the Iconia..

Just my opinion Rush

Nah, I am just compulsive when focused on issues and even did a detailed review of the first A500 and mentioned I was so impressed with the A500, I bought another router and moved it from the basement, so you seem to be picking and choosing, based on your apparently set opinion. The point is I bought another router and mentioned this, which refutes your assertion I could not afford-or could not bother to make the wifi situation better. I even mentioned I bought an N600 WNDR3400 router. Heck I even credited my liking the A500 so much, it drove me to move the router and upgrade it as well.

The wifi issue was bad on the first one and the sleep issue was the main bad on the second one. I attempted two days of various mixes to figure what the issue is. After resetting to stock and just stock apps the second A500 still had the problem.

I will praise a device and I will point out the issues as well. As I have posted a few times- the A500 is one update away from Awesome.

Just my opinion.

added:

I caught the Trans 32gb at Walmart.com and had it in my cart about this same time yesterday, but could not do it, since need the USB host without keyboard baggage and $100 net cost increase. Well, $200 for the 32gb. A 64gb TD costs $100, so better deal than 16gb more for $100 like on the Trans.

I miss the A500, since my gTablet is now a relative strain on the eyes.
