Root Stock DX, Rooted with Visionary.. Going GB?

Interested in checking out GB.. I'm rooted with visionary.

What would be course-of-action to get the GB update, and re-root?

And is it possible with visionary or is it not available yet for GB?

I assume Visionary is a root app? The TBH app has the GB files for install already rooted and deodexed.

If you are not entirely sure you are using the D2 bootstrap, I'd say skip on relying on the visionary root package. I know it had a bootstrap but it could be the DX one.

what i'd like to do, is unroot, get the GB update from verizon, and then re-root. Will TBH accomplish?

I don't use any kernels or special roms or anything crazy. I just like being able to run specific apps when I want, etc.

Not entirely sure. I didnt load any bootstrap myself, so if/whatever is on there, it'd be from whatever visionary uses (which im assuming is a stock one)

if you want to get the OTA from verizon flash maderstcok and wipe data and cache so you have a fresh install of froyo, maderstcok is the stock version of froyo and it will receive the ota

if you want to get the OTA from verizon flash maderstcok and wipe data and cache so you have a fresh install of froyo, maderstcok is the stock version of froyo and it will receive the ota

i would suggest an SBF over a maderstcok here...there were lots of problems flashing the leaked versions over a maderstcok flash...the OTA might work differently...but i wouldn't chance it...

i dont think im reading the same post you are bud, Datacomguy is interested into checking out GB, and then root it once he gets the ota, problem is there is no sure fire method for the OTA yet

i would suggest an SBF over a maderstcok here...there were lots of problems flashing the leaked versions over a maderstcok flash...the OTA might work differently...but i wouldn't chance it...

i wouldnt want to chance it either, he could sbf back to stock froyo and accept the leak, or flash the .588 files, and then .595 since it leads to OTA.

i personally wont take the OTA until we know we have perm root on it. and then welcome all the devs to develop some beautiful roms for it. hopefully fab will redo apex for the ota.. but we can only hope, cause i know he was possibly frustrated with p3 releasing leaks every other week, so heres hoping we will see apex, liberty, fission, rubix, and gummy very soon, and maybe some new rom devs!!!

but he did say he was interested in it and then wanted to root it, but there is no 1 click root method yet, so he can download the leaked rooted version

if he takes the ota he wont have root, and i was under the impression maybe he doesnt want root, only because he seems to want the 1 click root method

.595 won't work for getting to the OTA...P3Droid said that things had changed...only way to accept OTA is to be on stock Froyo...
