Alternative power supplies & chargers

Happy to say that my PowerGorilla PG001 will charge the tablet (via USB on battery). It has enough power to cope very well (21000mAh).

Today, I have been in touch with New Trent
New Trent Electronics Co., Ltd.

... and they are developing a compatible charger. They were very fast in their response to my initial enquiry and will email me when it comes to light.

Has anyone else found alternate power supplies or chargers?

Check out kensington's Duo line of chargers for the ipad. Has one 2 amp usb port and one 1amp. Great for the car to charge the pad and a phone or at home the same way. Was pissed because newegg had the car one for $10, and it sold out while I was checking out. I do have a single 2amp usb charger, and i'll actuallu charge the dock while just using the tablet.

but why they have to make it blue... :(

BTW, is that extension cable thick?

It's blue, but it works! The cord is thicker than the Asus cord.

I also bought a db tech 175 watt power inverter at Amazon to plug into the 12 volt socket of my car. It has a standard 3 prong plug and a usb port on it.

It works fine in my car using the Asus power cord. You need 1.2 amps to charge the transformer so most car adaptors don't work with it.

That's why I recommended the Kensington Powerbolt Duo. It has a 2amp usb port. Will charge no problem and still give you a 2nd usb port to charge something else at 1amp. But I charged my TF just fine with my 1amp car charger and the stock usb cord.
