RealHDMI has been updated to support the new GB leaks!
Tested and working on GB 595.

RealHDMI Currently IS NOW working on "leaked" Gingerbread ROM

Well would like to say that 1.9 release went smooth, but there was a couple of bugs that ended up getting stomped out after its release to the market so we are now up to 1.9.2. But 1.9.2 is on the market and should be working on 2.2 and 2.3.

It has proved very difficult to get a single app to support Android 2.2 and 2.3 with the HDMI output on the Droid X as things have changed A LOT in Gingerbread on the Droid X. Right now I think we have the big problems out of the way and at least have it working on the 2.3 leaked ROMS.

Assuming that the OTA (whenever it gets released) doesn't deviate to much from the current API's in the leaked ROMS there shouldn't be many changes necessary.

Gingerbread brings some new functionality to the table in the HDMI drivers which can potentially lead to some new features, but we are still exploring those possibilities. NO, screen mirroring isn't one of those things as phone's CPU physically can't do that. But once OTA gets out the door hope to have a 2.0 version ready.

RealHDMI + modified flash + Hulu = win
RealHDMI + Netflix = WIN!
RealHDMI + Wiimote + ANY Emulator = EPIC WIN!

Note: I am not affiliated with Gman, i am just a fan of his app.

I'm in the same boat as ^, with 3g giving me better picture on my phone than wifi... but oddly enough the 3g over hdmi was really pixilated, but on wifi it's fantastic.

however...

every twenty minutes or so realhdmi stops detecting the hdmi cable. not a big problem, since i just have to unplug and plug back in, but kind of annoying. anyone else having this issue/know how to fix it?

So, after killing myself trying to figure out what the problem is, I did end up e-mailing the dev, and for anyone else having this problem (netflix causes hdmi to cut out)--

Apparently netflix buffering uses so much ram that android kills realhdmi. No fix for it yet, but the dev is aware of it and they're actively working on a fix.

I guess what that means for now is, turn your autokiller settings as low as you can to keep android from killing realhdmi. Still annoying, but not terrible, and a fix is on its way!

I noticed this as well and here's what I do to "fix" the issue. Since you're already using AutoKiller just open up the RealHDMI app then open AutoKiller and long press on the RealHDMI app in AutoKiller, then select "Lower oom value".

So yeah, just to check back in-- I tried giving that a shot, lowered realhdmi, still had problems. Figured maybe autokiller was itself being killed, lowered realhdmi AND autokiller... same problem.

Blah. Ended up using autokiller as a task killer to kill pretty much everything but netflix, realhdmi and autokiller, which mostly fixed the problem (regularly go 30+ minutes without anything getting killed). I HATE killing processes, but until we get a workaround I guess I'll have to, unless anyone can think of something else.
