Verizon, are you kidding me...4G is down again???

I fail to understand how LTE being down affects your 3G/1x signal in any way, while not affecting someone without an LTE radio.

Basically, the 4G is battling the other radio bands to the point of a draw (none of them win and poor or no data connection).

A great test for the Charge radio would be to go into settings and switch to CDMA only. If the radio is truly discrete for the bands, 3G should work no problem. Automatic is the problem and where the battle kills the TB.

added:

If the device still does not work with 3G after doing this, it would support the theory that 4G has priority in the protocol and is embedded in the LTE operational parameters of LTE radio chips (hard coded).

REmember right before the DC was released verizon had a nation wide hiccup of all the bolts. Some people was lucky to even have 1x. Then if you dialed the ##778# AND switched your rev.A to enable then you had 3g. eHRPD works on a different radio ( I guess thats what you call it) than the regular 3g network and how regular 3g phones still had 3g while the Bolts did not unless you changed the settings with that number.
