Help EVO screen problems

Alright so I've been having some weird screen problems with my evo lately.

First: its been pretty laggy lately. I mean when I first got my evo this past july/august, it had crisp movements that did whatever my finger flicked in a split second. But now, when I go to unlock the phone, sometimes it takes a couple of flicks, or the lock bar slides down, then stays down in an almost frozen like state. I then have to press the power button to shut the screen off, then press it back on and repeat the unlocking process.
I also have an unlock pattern and sometimes despite drawing the pattern in correctly, it thinks that I touched other "pattern dots" and says that I entered an invalid passcode by turning red.

Also I've had problems with texting. Lately whenever I try to press the "a" button, it will either hit the q button or shift button. It's a really weird problem that happens on and off.

I've recalibrated the screen countless times on a flat surface and still nothing. I just took of my old screen protector and it seems to be doing better, but I still get some lag when flicking between home tabs.
My EVO is fully warranted by sprint so I'm debating on just having them replace it even though there isnt much wrong with it now, but to prevent problems from happening in the future like they have been.

Has anyone had to get their evo replaced by warranty? Does it cost extra money or do they just pull an evo out from the back of the store and give it to you?

Thanks for any help.

Do a factory reset. That doesn't work then take the phone back.

i would try the reset as well. and if you are still having issues take your phone in. my phone would randomly reboot. so i took it in to get serviced. they tried a factory reset but that did not work. so they had to order a refurbished evo. it took them about 3 days to get one in. if you have insurance then you are good to go. if not then it might cost you $35 to get it fixed, but i'm not 100% positive on that.

Alright, I'm gonna take it in today. I reset it and it seems my problems are actually worse than before. Tons of lag. Does a refurbished evo have like scratches or dents on it at all? I always like my phone to look perfect and I keep my evo in really nice condition.

Got my evo today. Perfect so far, but I have to redownload most of my apps :( Oh well, I'm really not complaining considering that for the past 4 days I wasn't able to text. There wasn't any charge either. Gotta love sprint for their quick, easy and reliable action.
Oh yea and has anyone ever had to leave their phone at the sprint store for like an hour if they were ever repairing it or something? I honestly felt like a part of me was missing for that 1 hour it was gone. Funny things.
Anyways thanks guys for your advice. Probably the best, friendliest forum I'm a part of on the net.
