Frustrated and exhausted...still no Transformer in hand

After two months of waiting and three weeks of searching, still no Transformer for me...I seem to have really bad luck on this one.
Ordered one from Amazon on the release day...backordered and EST was end of May. Then I saw one on TigerDirect. Placed the order and I was told after three days that it was backordered! By the time, I have already canceled my Amazon order.
Yesterday saw the Walmart one...everything went smoothly until today. They canceled my order apparently because I entered in a hurry the wrong expiration data of my credit card.

So I end up with nothing in line. Now I am just plain angry.

I understand your pain. I finally got lucky with getting my transformer when I noticed they had it in stock at my local Micro Center. I had a Walmart one canceled after I placed the order so I woudn't have to wait.

The docking station was much harder for me. Even using text alert (in addition to ones on my desktop) with nowinstock.net, I missed out 3 times before I finally got the docking station on Amazon.com I had it overnighted to me so I got it today (that was worth the extra $$ IMO). Good luck and I am sure you will find one in stock soon!

I got a 32 gig at Newegg last week. Thing popped up on nowinstock.net and it was sold out in less than 10 minutes. Just gotta get lucky.

Try other options. I got mine with the dock at American TV. I would never had expected it. Good luck. It is a good product.

I just signed up and saw the history, its pretty ridiculous how it will show in stock and then out of stock like 8 minutes later.

I feel very fortunate that I got one from Fry's almost by accident. I had been watching and following (had bookmarked all the sites to look for online) and becoming very frustrated that the Transformer was out of stock everywhere so I picked up an ACER Iconia, which I liked very much.

A few days later, with no interest in purchasing a Transformer I went to close out Firefox and hit the quick link for fry's instead of the close button because they are near each other and the page said "check in store availability" which I did and it said it was in stock in the Indianapolis store. I tried to buy online but read the part about returns had to be returned via shipping even if I picked it up in store so I rushed down to Fry's and asked them about it. They said they only have 1 in stock and it is a display model - bummer

I went back to the tablets section so I could at least see what a Transformer looked like and it wasn't on display. The department manager looked it up and said they had one so maybe it was still "in the cage." I went to the front registers and asked and there it was still sealed up in a box - brand new! So I bought it and headed home.

Similarly, a week later I picked up the keyboard the same way except this time I was actually looking for it.

I compared the ASUS and ACER head to head for a few days and I was torn but decided to keep the ASUS once I had the keyboard. Both are fine tablets and the sound on the Acer is awesome.

They are good about updating the site. You can order the 32GB online right now. Obviously if you have a store near to you check about pick up. That's where I got mine.

Docking station came from amazon.com though. I tried to see if my store would transfer one in stock to the store and the lady was rude and refused. Wrote to Micro Center about it and they were kind and apologetic as well as trying to help me get one. Amazon had delivered by then though.

Wife got an ipad2 from the store to try to cheer me up...My experience with it is better than I thought. But getting things in and out is cumbersome.
I am still checking out this website, hoping to get my transformer in hand. I am not exactly an Android fanboy, but definitely not an apple one.

That was so sweet of your wife. I have played with an ipad2 and they are nice. I have an Android phone so Mac is just different enough to annoy me. That said it is a very nice product. I really was comparing all tablets to the ipad2 and this one won for me. If I had an ipad2 i would be happy but I admit having the docking station made the Transformer win for me. Still I would be happy if I had an ipad2, especially as a gift LOL

I agree with you. ipad2 is nice, but I probably can do a lot more with a transformer, especially with the dock.
That said, it is nice to have an ipad2 for my upcoming business trips while waiting for the transformers to show up.

I was on a trip with family when I got to play a little with the ipad2 and admittedly that got me started on the tablet search. So I do think they are great!

I have had the docking station for about 24 hours now, and I am loving it. Made this 100% worth it. I am still getting used to the size of the keyboard, but it feels much the same as netbooks. The battery life with the dock, seems really good so far. Not that the battery life without was bad, but this is much better.

I am lad you will have something to use on the trip. I will be happy to have this instead of one of my laptops. I could fit two side by side in my old 13" laptop bag. My bag for my alienware laptop is huge and this could fit in there along with theat laptop as well. I am pretty sure it would fit in one of my medium purses too. Having portability is so nice!

I feel your pain fishflying, I also dont have a transformer either. I should have had mine on Wednesday but FEDEX driver left mine at my front door and someone nabbed it. Now I have to wait till I can get my money back from BJ's (who I ordered the tablet from) and order elsewhere. SO im not only out 400$ currently but now I dont have a tablet either. Very frustrating.

That sucks! It looks like those delivery companies are saving money by dropping stuff at the door. I had stuff stolen at the door several times already.
I am typing this from my new iPad, not bad. Hope the transformer is even better.

Yeah I got one on there Friday evening, got a tracking number but UPS doesnt show it yet. Hopefully its not a bad rapture joke.

Which shipping option did you opt for? I went with expedited and mine is sitting at the Kentucky UPS facility right now. (I ordered about 5:50pm CST on Friday.)

I ordered mine at Best Buy on 5-20-11, "fulfillment" date of 5-28-11. I wonder why they don't have any in store? I have actually been thinking about trying the Acer Iconia instead. Besides the transformer display, is there any big differences between the 2?

The reason there aren't any in store is that up until this past weekend, as soon as anyone would get some into their central warehouses, they'd get snatched up. There was no point in redistributing them out to stores. With the current batch, I guess we'll see what happens with those.
