Root Signal Fluctuation - radio?

I'm getting serious signal fluctuations from no signal to 50% to 100% when the phone is stationary. I have tried 2 other sims from 2 other networks and get the same result. I'm getting used to flashing ROMs which I have done quite a few times now could this be detrimental to the radio? Could it be due to the latest version of the ROM? Something else?

Baseband version 63.18.55.06PU_6.35.15.14

I updated my own radio from that baseband version to 63.18.55.06SU_6.35.17.03 and noticed a slight improvement in mobile signal strength. I've not had a problem such as you describe in my limited testing of the v2.4 ROM - maybe give it a try?

Afaik flashing ROMS shouldn't directly affect the radio, but later radios may work better with the newer libraries contained in more recent OS versions.

I am running the latest version of the ROM. I reflashed and have got a bit of an improvement but still some fluctuations. Do you know of a link I can get an updated radio from?

It's packaged as a flashable ZIP, so simply copy to /sdcard and install from recovery.
