Help Home Screen Notification

When my home screen is locked there is a small white talk bubble that says how many messages and I can't for the life of me figure out what it is referring to
it doesn't correlate to text messages (handscent or stock app) - it is not email messages as it says that separate and it is a small white bubble? the only thing I could think of was google talk as that has a convo bubble but thats not it either

help? it is annoying me and of course sometimes it is there and then sometimes it is not

Its googles IM. Go to the app drawer and open talk. You can disable it from signing in automatically.

I did do that and it still is happening and then when I go to click on talk it signs me in

any other ways around it???

If you turn sign out and have it set not to sign you in it shouldnt pop up unless you open talk. Whenever you open it it signs you in but you can sign out in the menu. If its not workin i dont know of anything else

whats even stranger--is even with talk signed on there are no active conversations so I am not sure even where the number count it coming from
so frustrating

Is it text message notifications? You using a 3rd party messaging app?

I am using handscent but the numbers dont correlate--- and they change randomly--never higher than 15 and now that I think about it are always odd numbers--even stranger

Try opening the stock sms app to see if it clears it

use stock messaging or get a lockscreen replacement. or just deal with it. theres no changing it
