Hey I just got my HTC inspire today. My dad said not to use YouTube too much cus they charge you after you pass a certain amount of videos. Is that just for the app or will it cost extra if use YouTube through the internet as well? Also if I download free apps from the market will it show up on the bill? I want to be really careful cus when 4 years ago I went overboard and the bill was like $800 if that happens again I'm sure he'll kill me. I tried downloading the juicedefender but it takes forever to download, is it just my phone or the market is f'd up?

P.s. how the hell do I turn off the auto correct? It's driving me insane.

Free applications will not show up on your bill, and are completely free. I have never heard of the youtube costing money regardless of how much you use it. I'm pretty sure (99%) that there is no limit to the usage of the youtube application to watch videos.

If you want to buy some paid apps from the market, what I do is buy a $25 pre paid visa card, and use that to buy my apps, that way I can know for sure that I can only spend up to $25 and can control things.

Regarding JuiceDefender, you might have a weak signal, perhaps try turning on wifi (if you have home wifi) and see if that provides you a better connection to DL the application. If you don't have home wifi, just be patient and let it download over the mobile internet connection.

I don't have an answer for you for the auto correct, sorry. I use the swype keyboard, so I don't run into that. Congratulations on the new phone :)

Edit - I actually just thought of what your Dad is talking about with the youtube use. There might be a limit on your plan that only allows you to use a certain amount of data usage. So if thats the case, then ya don't over use it and the browser usage would be the same in that regard, its all data usage.

To change your keyboard settings do this, from the home screen tap menu-settings-language & keyboard-touch input-text input from this menu you can change spelling correction word prediction etc.

And the only way youtube would cost you money was if you were on a limited data plan either the 200mb or 2gb plan and you view too many videos that use your data allowance. You can get an app called 3g watchdog to monitor your data usage. Also I would set anything you have to sync like facebook, email, weather to manual refresh or maybe every 3-4hrs. You can tap menu-settings-accounts & sync, anything setup to sync there you tap on the account and then you should see the option to change the refresh times. Also if you are using widgets for weather facebook of news you can change the refresh rates for these as well.

I went to the market started downloading mango manga cus it free, forgot about it 2 hours later when i checked this piece of crappy still said starting to download. And yes I have the WiFi on. I think my dad may have told the company to block downloads on my phone... if that's even possible. Cant think of any reason other for downloads to not work. -_-

You have to have a data plan on the phone so he couldnt have blocked data usage which is what the market uses to download, something else must be going on can you get any other apps to download?

So far I have only tried mango manga, juicedefender and Pandora. When i check under my apps it says starting download. Been like that for the past 5 hours.

I had a similar thing happen on my captivate. Eventually it fixed itself after the Google maps app said downloading for 2 whole days. Maybe try restarting the phone?
If you tap on one of the apps that's stuck in download it should open the app page is there a cancel option?

Yea it let's me cancel it. I restarted the phone and the my apps page is still the same "starting download" I'm desperate I need Pandora. I'll just wait a day or two.
