Root Bought a phone that was previously rooted...need help

OK...it appears I'm on:

Firmware version: 2.0.01
Kernel Version: 2.6.29-omap1-g0dd7e0b android-build@apa26 #511
Build: ESD56

I want to get back to the version OTA Froyo.

I didn't root the phone and have no clue where to start.

if your stock go to
settings menu
about phone
check for updates.

That should bring you all the way to FROYO

Look at how to revert back to stock...especially if the "check for updates" method doesn't work.

It's not stock. It looks like it has had the build.prop file edited, so it fails on that check.

Thanks. It looks like SBF back to the original 2.0.1. Does it matter which one I flash to as long as it 2.0.1 or higher?

It shouldn't, and if you flash back to stock, you will most likely be able to get the OTA update.
I would just try the newest one, and go from there.
