Root [CDMA] HTC is listening through Facebook, so keep telling them what we think about the bootloader

Thank you for trying to get word out and get active, but to be honest, this thread will probably be locked/merged with another. EarlyMon likes to keep things neat, tidy, and organized, and I like that. What matters is that YOU have done what YOU can to help the cause. The other threads already made are here to get the word out. Thanks. :D

That was exactly the point I was trying to make here: http://androidforums.com/evo-3d-all...loader-but-its-big-problem-3.html#post2732436 .

HTC could do the right thing and update the bootloader post sale with an OTA update, but I do not think they will "stop the presses" and do it retroactively for already manufactured handsets right off the bat. We shall see.

If people are voicing their displeasure about the bootloader via Facebook, and HTC is listening, then why not also voice displeasure about the lack of a release date?

If enough people complain about the lack of info regarding a release date, perhaps that will entice HTC to push Sprint to make an announcement. Maybe then Sprint would get the idea it's better to let people know when it will be released, and let them make the decision whether or not they want to buy, rather then keeping it a secret when all these other devices are coming out and people need to decide if they want to buy a phone that is out or wait for an upcoming one.

link to main HTC in facebook

i saw threads about petitions and wanted to comment in them, but both were locked...not sure if mods will mind about this one.
A lot of people are voicing their opinion in facebook and they are listening

Take a look here for some more petitioning resources:

BTW, I added your facebook link there. FYI: bootloader talk should belong in the "All things root" subforum. For future reference.

I would totally be OK if HTC announced an OTA that unencrypted the bootloader, even if the initial released ROM is still locked down. This would indicate HTC may change their policy for good, and that's a win for all of us.

the people who manage the facebook and twitter account have no say in what the executives decide. I doubt it'll do anything. I'm still going to recommend emailing the executives directly.

Doesn't hurt to do both. Executives that make their contact info public may have people who screen their mail, so it's unclear who ends up reading what. But the point is to hammer home the point from all fronts.

If they didn't have screeners/filters set before the bootloader thing went down, I bet they do now!

As long as they don't filter them straight into the trash, I really don't care if they don't read the email I sent. If it just goes into a filter that displays an email count, I'd be happy. Of course, I'd like a reply. But I doubt it would be anything more than "We regret that you are unhappy with our policy. We are discussing this with <blah blah>. If we make any change, we will make an announcement at <blah blah blah>."
