Metro has grown out of the ghetto a lot and I know a few (relatively) well-to-do people that are fed up with the major carriers for their pricing and/or crappy service and are considering going to Metro.
Verizon charges you up the ass but you get great service...and then you have the rest, too expensive for their lack of consistency.
Now Google also doesn't like the major carriers because their prices and contracts hinder people from getting these web-browsing, Google ad flashing, mobile devices in their hands. If Google is smart, they would start investing more effort into developing for companies like Metro. The next
knock-your-socks-off Google phone should be tailored for the likes of Metro, Virgin, Simple...etc and be set up with some kind of reasonable cost structure.
The major carriers are raping people. I heard a report on the radio last year on the most marked-up products in commerce. The price you pay for a glass of wine in a restaurant is the same price you pay for the entire bottle when buying from the store...but that's nothing.
Coming in at number 1, at a STAGGERING mark-up of 6000%....you guessed it....text messaging. It costs about 3 pennies to process a text message, yet the average charge in America is 20 cents. Does anybody else's ass hurt?
Needless to say, by this time next week I'll be a Verizon customer. I have found a couple of cracks in their armor where I can sneak in, and not only pay much less than most, but also pay considerably less than I do for Metro, get the same features and that sweet, sweet Big Red Signal.
I'm movin' to Droid Charge City baby. HAHA!!!
Bye bye Metro losers. Have fun dodging bullets and pregnant 12 year olds on your way to pay your bill.
