huh, opera mini (4 though) works on all roms out of the box. you're running opera mini5 without any problems like garbled/messed up text? btw. you can install java j2me runner or similar on any rom and use opera mini5, on 2.0 as well....

Not had any problems with Opera Mini 5, either beta 1 or 2. I find 2 slower than 1 because it tends to load the complete page before displaying it.
The only font issues I have is the annoying font collecting dialog box at the start sometimes.

Got My Galaxy last week after selling my HTC Touch HD2.

REALLY like the android OS compared to winmo and apple interfaces - nice and simple - does exactly what it says on the tin :) Coming from a HTC background I like to try the latest and custom ROM's but overall prefer whatever is the most stable with loads of functionality.

Awesome device but was sad to hear no android 2.0 rom :(

I'm on o2 in the UK and got confused with all the different stock ROM's and I'm still trying to figure out what a CRC is - lol

I got a tad sick of constantly flashing new ROM's on my HTC devices so have taken it easy with this Galaxy so far. (Got a work TouchPro2 to mess with ;)

Samsung software refused to recognise my phone so I had to use odin (great tool) - I was originally on IH4 (I think) - now running official latest o2 ROM II4 I believe. It rebooted once on me so far (trying to use rotation) but otherwise all good.

Interested to hear what others are running in the UK.....

I'll buy in summer anyway a second phone, maybe again a Android from Samsung.

How could you even consider another Android from Samsung after you've seen what support they give you with a >400eur phone?

I've always liked Samsung phones but not anymore, after only 6 months I'm struggling to sell it for more than 250eur (which I shouldn't have to do if they would bother to release some updates)

Agree, Samsung's support is anything else than great. On the other hand, Android phones are kind of do-it-yourself-phones. I updated the stock FW via Odin to IK5 and now it works great.
Maybe Samsung will learn out of their mistakes and the next phones will be better.

btw I paid for my i7500 converted about 250euro. I wanted a cheap Android phone with a good price/value when I bought it, since it was my first Android phone.

However, we will see and hope if they'll release Android 2.0/2.1 for the i7500.

I'm agree. When did the i7500 came out, around August right? But since then the prices haven't really dropped, just in some online stores maybe.
Also if I would have bought the i7500 in a normal store I'd still had to pay the full price of ~466euro which is way too much for a non-high-end Android device.
So I searched some online stores and finally found one for a good price with two years of warranty.

You should definitely share with us that online store of yours ;)
