Hi,

Changing to a higher capacity SD card is quite troublesome...
you have to backup your SD card and copy everything back to your new SD card.
then you have to reinstall all your apps that were installed in your old SD card
and move them to your new SD card again.

cheers :)

Hi,

Root, xRecovery and custom rom is safe because it is installed in the phone's memory not on the SD card.

Just want to ask, can't we just copy and paste all the installed apps into the new SD card? We need to partition it first, so cant copy and paste?

Hi,

Custom ROMs do not require additional partition. Just need one partition FAT32.

You cannot just copy and paste your apps. it does not work that way.
You need to re-install all your apps again one by one.
Unless you are using Titanium Backup Pro, then you just need to restore your backup file.

cheers :)

If you have have xRecovery-0.1 you have busybox...
Do not upgrade busybox. You will brick your phone.

Hi,

There is no busybox icon. If you are using a custom rom, use Root Explorer, navigate to /system/bin and you will find the busybox there.

This busybox version in your phones /system/bin is compatible to your Xperia X8's xRecovery app. So do NOT go to the Android Market and install the "latest" version of busybox thinking it is better. It will brick your phone.

cheers :)

another question bro.. currently im using floyo .2. if ever i want to try another rom, can i just install it directly without putting back the official rom from SE? and can you please help me what is the best rom available? thanks

Hi,

There are currently a lot of custom roms available in the XDA Dev website both in the Froyo 2.2.1 and Gingerbread 2.3.3 flavours. You have to go and have a look and read all the comments and then make up your mind.

No, you do not need to go back to the stock ROM to flash a custom rom.
All you have to do is to download the rom, copy to sd card and use xrecovery to flash and you are set.

cheers :)
