Where to Get a Spare Battery?

I'm not holding my breath for replacements with higher capacity.
Li-Ion battery technology seems to be stagnating in the last couple
of years. It seems that they can't pack more than 1500 mAh in
a battery of Galaxy's size.

If someone finds out whether the battery is the same as in Omnia II,
please report back to us.

After some searching I bought a battery on ebay, originally for Samsung Omnia i900, but not OEM. 1500mA and 3.7v, same as in Galaxy.
It came to be not a good (or at least lucky) choice, because although fitting perfectly on the Galaxy, the full charging was too damn quick (like a minute) and when unplugged the phone was on just for some 10 seconds until it died.
Incompatible battery or faulty battery, I cannot tell.

Samsung Galaxy GT-I7500 cradle w/ 2nd battery charger - eBay (item 200405125919 end time Dec-12-09 00:14:28 PST)

There's also a version without the spare battery charger. I'm thinking of buying it. :)

I must say I am very interested in this. Last time I asked around, nobody seemed to be making batteries for the Galaxy.

Anyone got a fresh lead on where to get that cradle-charger?

Get something like that Welcome to Just Mobile
I have a silver alu version with 4400mAh to charge my i7500 Galaxy, iPod, and iPhone.
That's a strange shop you link to: it seems they don't mention what kind of phones their products are for, and what kind of USB (micro? mini?) plugs they use. Also, let me get this straight: the 4400mAh version you have, that's the separate power brick, right? (If so, I'm not really interested.)

You probably have the benefit if being able to fall back to EDGE or even turn 3G off. We do not. Bell Mobility's Network is HSPA only. That being said, one should not have to cripple his phone in order to get respectable battery life.

I never turn 3G off, and I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've seen it fall back to edge.

Your problems are down to some app waking the phone to do updates, or something like using the case which holds the camera button down preventing sleep.

off
background data turned off, auto=sync turned off, task killer pro set to shut off apps on screen sleep, as well as three of us at work with the same phone all experiencing the same horrible battery life. There's is worse since they haven't adjusted their sync and data settings. Oh and no case... :)

And how long does your battery last?
