Site ad cant close when viewed from a phone.

The Flash ad that pops up at times on this site blocks me from being able to view the site on my phone at times. I cant close the ad with the X on the top right of the ad.

I brought this up in the mod forum too. When using mobile browser and running into that ad, you basically are stuck with it on your screen. I ended up killing it via System Panel and having to restart the browser

I do too but sometimes during the busy hours, I prefer to have mod tools just in case!

I wonder if they track how you respond to the ad?

Sometimes I can kill it at work on my PC and sometimes it keeps coming back until it locks on the screen and I can't access the forums at all. Also, it seems to act differently in different threads. Sometimes it's just a particular thread I get locked out of and the other ones are fine. Like today, I can't get to the Droid 3 thread at all because of the ad. But have no trouble killing it on this one.

If they are locking in the ad because you don't view it, then I'm stuck because the intranet filter blocks it out completely. I couldn't see it if I wanted to! (It shows up as a "Filter: banned site." message overlay.)

I don't know if there is a Phandroid app for PC use, but I'm blocked from installs on this PC anyway.

The filter, though wouldn't keep making it pop-up repeatedly, so it must be a Phandroid issue. Is there any way around it it or do I have to cross Phandroid off my list of accessible websites?

Ouch that sounds really bad I don't think I can live without AF. Have you tried the mobile skin? There is a drop down box at the left bottom of the site. Only issue is that you can't see pictures, lol, including ads.

I run into this at work as well. Whenever one of those pop ups hit it takes me to a filter:banned site message. No matter if i refresh or use the back button it doesn't go away. It will continue to try to load unless I immediately clear ALL browsing history/cookies/cache/etc (i delete everything it lets me)
Once i do this a simple refresh (F5) loads the page i want and all is good. Sometimes i have to repeat this several times but it gets me through the night
