I just restarted my device and realized the thunder at startup actually sounds more like a toilet bowel than thunder. From now on I will refer to my tb as the toilet bowel rather than thunderbolt....
Not here. I'm running BAMF 1.6.1 (haven't had time or desire to flash anything newer). My battery life is pretty good clocked at 1.5GHz and its really stable.
But I've seen a few post here that bother me. Just because someone has problems...doesn't mean everyone is (and vice versa). And just because a fix action works for some people doesn't mean it is a universal fix.
Let's not discount individuals experiences because they have not been your experiences. I saw this mentality with the battery life threads when the phone first launched.
If you are experiencing reboots and fixed it...please, post your fix so others can try it. But don't demand others do so before they can post on the subject.
I called yesterday for the first time ever and if course they said they've never heard of it. BS! Just had another reboot. Gettin f'n old man. Does rooting solve the problem?
Nope, I've never had a reboot either that I know of. I'm not rooted and I installed the OTA. My GPS works great and I seldom drop my 4G connection. I know how you feel though. I'm starting to feel kinda' lonely.
I have had an occasional hiccup that I've never seen mentioned. I had one alarm reminder start alarming that was turned off and just now I left my desk and when I came back I had a message on the screen to tap the screen to turn on the camera. I have no idea where that came from because I haven't touched my TBolt since I tethered my laptop to it and I've never seen that message before. I wonder if it was referring to the front facing camera that I've never had on. I just tried turning on my rear camera and got a message that my camera flash won't work if the Hotspot is on. Learning something new every day.
It really is random. I didn't have any in the beginning after the update, but the past week they've gotten worse and worse, during phone calls, etc. If they are working to push out a patch and it's going to be sooner than later (I know, I know, "soon.") I really don't want to get a replacement only to have a fix a few days later.
The reboot issue had begun to get out of control for me too, but suddenly the issue has just stopped. The last time my phone rebooted was probably about 48 hours ago now, whereas before that it was happening a good 3 or 4 times a day. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm not aware of anything I've done differently, so I'm wondering if this is luck, or if there's some silent update that was done (if that's even possible).

You know...I'm not trying discount anyone's rebooting issues and I know that VZW and HTC have confirmed the issue...but it sounds like an app conflict issue. I know that VZW tested this OTA because they have a history if doing so (which is why OTAs take so long to get released).
I just hope you guys and gals get a fix soon. I haven't had an issue with rebooting but I'd be pissed if I had to deal with that daily...
Was getting reboots as well, got a replacement coming on Tuesday and had my current TB factory reset. The Verizon rep said the reboot were caused be juice defender and my task killer. I said I didn't care and wanted a replacement but since the reset on Thursday I havent had a reboot and only re-downloaded phandroid and the amazon app store. Has anyone had reboots without juice defender or task killer installed?
Rodrir, I can say I had neither of those installed on my device at any point, and that my reboot issue only began after the software update was pushed out. I have been uninstalling some apps that I wasn't using lately though, so perhaps it is app related.
Hello everyone. New guy here. I was just wondering if its safe to get a Tbolt today. My contract has been up since Nov. with ATT and I have been lured away from my iphone 2 to the Droid side. The freedom droid looks like it allows is insane and I can't relly wait anymore. Are TBolt phones prone to rebooting from new or is it only after the recent update? Do they come new with the faulty update? Thx in advance.
Welcome to AF and congrats on your first post. It's my job to help point you in the direction of your interest... but I see you've found the spot.
Best of luck with your Droid decision.
Just switched to the Droid Charge because of these reboots. I know how bad it can be. In fact it caused some issues at my work with my employer during a conference call.
I loved my tb but reboots and battery issues are un acceptable.

My phone I got yesterday has rebooted twice now, but both times the battery was almost dead and I have tons of apps installed and fighting with each other
I jad jad mine well outside the 14 days. All I paid was so,e extra momey for the extendes battery. I wanted the tb to be the right phone so bad. But I'm glad I made the switch.

So you complained enough and they works out a deal with you? Did you go through the store or corporate customer service? I only ask because ive had about enough of this. I need my device to be reliable....I work in the medical industry and its critical I'm not getting cut off while on the phone trying to explain a procedure or answer implant questions.
Friggin OTA. I do remember that when it was updating that one of the pop ups before it actually downloads was that the update will cause the phone to reboot without warning.
Does anyone else remember this? Was it talking about a new, intended behavior or was it just referring to the reboot performed during the update procedure?
