Root I've rooted, now what should I do?

Hi there,
Been lurking for a while and today I decided to finally do it and root my Desire using the Unrevoked method which went smooth as silk (major kudos to the unrevoked guys), now I am left with the question as what to do next, this question has prolly been asked a million times but I thought I would ask the experts as to be honest I dont fancy screwing up my device after misunderstanding things. Any help would be greatfully recived

Lol Too many noobs are rooting just for the sake of rooting. That is rather worrying! My concern is, someday we will come across somebody who has bricked their phone simply cos they didnt do enough research.

It's gonna happen soon....does nobody read anymore? I spent weeks on here reading everything before i took the plunge. Feel sorry for all Dan's work and effort. :(

Forgive me for sounding clueless, I phrased things pretty badly *Attaches rock of shame*. I have read the FAQ's (bloody good as well) and should have asked whether to create the goldcard first before looking at custom roms as I am not 100% sure, I like to have everything cleared up in my mind before I do anything. The main reasons I rooted was primaraly for the additional space, but also to see what the bit of kit can do to its full potential

Yes I should look at that.

Usta, what do you think of the "lets update our sticky" thread so far?

Disappointingly, most of the threads in there are mine, so we need to add some more..

WARNING: Rooting can be dangerous if you do not understand the concepts, risks and procedures involved.

Although we are often at hand to help, you will receive much better help if you have read the FAQ's and guides several times before undertaking the task of rooting. Not only will you understand the possible causes and fixes for issues you encounter, it will also help you to give US the information we need to help YOU!

Yes ask lots of questions before you do anything.

The gold card is for recovery purposes. It is better to create it before you start but if its too late it can be made using a card reader.
