Torn between 3 phones here - s2 atrix htc sensation - of course there's gonna be pro and cons but would people recommend this phone. I love the display but not so much the build quality. I've read the battery life ain't great and the guy in vodafone said it's signal quality isn't the best. Having come from htc where all updates where done ota not sure if I like the idea of having to hook up to a pc again like I had to do with Nokia - which was a real pain in the ass. How are guys finding there things?

The S2 is the best. It may feel a bit cheap, but it feels light, butter smooth, and powerful also. And also be wary of what the Vodafone man tells you. They stock the Sensation exclusively so they might be trying to sell you it. I've heard Kies can get a bit annoying, but it's many people say that it isn't that bad, one you get used it/have a little bit of patience.

I chose the S2 because it has everything I wanted. The only thing I don't like is that it's so big. I would rather have a 4" phone, with the same pixel count. But it's not too big.

It doesn't feel cheap to me. Yes, HTC phones feel more solid, and I think the iPhone 4 is king in this regard. If you compare them, in a shop, then the S2 might feel the most cheap. But now I have it here, it doesn't cross my mind anymore.

I don't know about updates, battery life, and signal quality yet. I do know that I like the interface a lot better than HTC Sense.

Coming from Htc, I do miss the ability to update OTA. Overall, I can confidently say that I am enjoying this phone a lot more than the Htc. The main reason is the size and weight. Second reason is the memory and third, its lightening fast!

Memory was a huge selling point for me. I constantly ran into memory issues with my htc desire (great phone) and it seems they have not addressed this issue on the htc sensation with only 1gb internal memory as opposed to 2gb which sgs 2 has. Also, the fact that I could have a 16gb storage plus a 32gb sd card is inviting.

I also wanted something different because I was getting bored of using htc sense. I'm sure the sensation would be awesome but these are my reasons for choosing sgs2

I've owned HTC, Motorola and now Samsung - i wouldn't touch Motorola again with a barge pole. I hated the device and their support was terrible. I really liked HTC and still do like them. I just thought i'd try something different and i'm glad i did.

Battery and WiFi are fine. The screen is out of this world, it never lags and i'm really pleased with the camera (a big selling point for me).

htc sensation is fat and heavy. although s2 has a plastic back cover it never creaks, it doesn't feel cheap.

i can't take my eyes off the screen its so bright, blacks are deep blacks, it makes the desire and sensation look washed out

i believe minor updates are done through kies but major updates will be done OTA. is this right?

I don't get where the poor build quality comment comes from. Just because it's not heavy it's poor quality? The battery cover functions flawlessly. It's designed to be light weight. I guess if you're in to hot swapping batteries and SD cards you will have to mess with the battery cover a lot. Other than that I don't know why you would ever mess with it.

The speed of the S2 is unlike any other phone I have touched. It runs circles around my iP4. I understand that's not a next gen phone but it's simplistic approach generally makes it appear faster than other devices.

I've messed with an Atrix for a few minutes at the AT&T store. I wasn't impressed at all. The S2 is the first phone I've ever purchased without testing. It's also the most I've ever paid for a phone. I don't regret it one bit.

I completely agree. Firstly, the memory card is not hot swappable but there is Direct wifi and that "thing" you do in your browser where you type in the IP and can manage the phone from the browser. OFC this won't work for big movies, but it's not the end of the world...there's internal storage.

Secondly, I think many people confuse "build quality" with feel. Build quality is superb, fact. :) Because the plastic is polished, there are no creaks, the glass is coated, the glass is glue to the screen (or something similar to stop dust getting in) etc, however some people feel, that it feels cheap. Fair dues, each to their own, but personally I like something that is light, slim and powerful also. :)

Nothing sexier than a black screen matching perfectly with a black bezel. I almost feel sorry for LCD phones... like a bluray player on a tube TV... shameful. Some people even think tube TV's are better build quality than today's flatscreens because they're heavy. They too will forever be stuck in the 90's. :D Can't wait to upgrade from the Vibrant.
