Root Rooting complete. Now what?

I just completed rooting, and havent done a single thing after yet.

What should I do now?

Do I need to install Titanium? How about ROM Manager?

I want to install a ROM/kernel that mixes awesome with battery life. But curious what I should do first?

thinking about going with das BAMF. Not sure which "flavor" to go with though.

Start with Perfect Storm 1.4 (my favorite) or BAMF 1.7 (crowd favorite)and use the radio they suggest (which is the leaked OTA radio). At this point since GB/sense roms put the TB at risk for bricking you should not really be flashing any radios, just roms you wish to try. any rom being maintained uses the radio listed above. try Imoseyon's lean kernel or Adrynalyne's 4.4.7 kernel. If you want to overclock for performance or undervolt for battery life changing the kernel is a must. Both those kernels offer way better performance than stock though battery life has always been the same as stock for me (probably because I overclock from 1.4-1.7ghz at all times).
After flashing ANY the first thing I do is download titanium, busy box (if not included) and rom manager.

IMO its only good use is to flash clockwork recovery,and to use to boot into clockwork recovery for manual management. i personally would not recomend using it to make backups,wipe,download and flash roms. it is not reliable,and if something happens that results in a bootloop or non-functional rom,rom manager will not be available for you to use.

rom manager is an app,in a rom,so your phone must be operational for you to use it. unlike recovery,wich will always be there for you.

what you need to do is become comfortable navigating the menus and doing things manually in clockwork recovery. then if you want to use rom manager,go ahead. knowing how to use recovery will avoid the "moment of panic" on how to fix your first bootloop youll know how to pull the battery and get to recovery via hboot and relash a rom or restore a backup to get to a working phone.

I like BAMF 1.7 NTE with the default kernel. This setup gets me through a full day without needing to charge my phone(most of the time). I have only had 1 random reboot with Das Bamf.(I have been using it for about a month now)

BAMF comes with the kernel you want. No need to change it right now.

Flash MatteHD through recovery just like you did the ROM.

another question (haha): I have das BAMF 1.7 Remix. which should I go with?

I know Remix has the circle battery with percentage in the Not Bar, would like to have that

Honestly the only kernels IMO that are worth switching to are Imoseyon's lean kernel, the special edition if you want call recording support, or Adrynalyne's Control Freak 2.0.

With those 2 you're only going to get the most out of them by customizing the smartass settings via root explorer with CF 2.0, or using the terminal emulator in the toolbox with Imo's using InteractiveX gov. Unless you know what you're doing, not saying you don't, you can easily make things worse.

Of the 2 Imo's is less complex, but, again IMO, doesn't run quite as smoothly as CF 2.0, and on my phone at least wont run as stable with the same voltage settings. Plus I like running smartass gov, and that's what 2.0 is designed for.

Running Normal with the InteractiveX gov.

Charging phone to 100 then we'll see how it does!
