You could always upgrade to the Official Gingerblur release. There's all kinds of threads about it in the "All things root" section.

This is what I would suggest. Look in the sticky at the top of the forum and it will link you to P3s original post. There is a specific file that you need to go from froyo to GB ota.

Depends on what you want to do.. Root or no Root? If you go the rooted route, i'd flash deodexed .596

thats what i did, it runs smooth and solid, you won't be disappointed
