What is the current PRL?

Yeah. That is the latest PRL. ;)

Supposedly that is the one that actually gives us less roaming points on Verizon towers, but that has yet to be verified as far as I know. I am still on the older PRL, without any ill effects yet. Of course, when I get my next handset, it will probably be updated to the latest PRL anyway. Oh well. :)

A little off topic but I'm currently running an alltell/verizon prl and a droid eris radio and have a few other crazy combos i've been testing the last couple of weeks. I've got a desire radio and another verizon prl modified for Sprint Phones also.

I am in no way advocating anyone trying this if you don't understand what your doing or where your getting your files. But I get horrible sprint reception where I am and I'm trying everything. I have seen my download speeds increase by 400kbs on my current set up. And it gives me something else to play with to feed the idle hands since aospCMod works so well.

I also an using a verizon prl. My sprint connection just started to get worse over time with prl updates. I'm loving the verizon prl 52299 so fast great connection. If only I could put a lte chip in my hero :)

I have wanted to try out alternate radio baseband and PRL setups. It sounds like you are seeing a dramatic increase in throughput in your situation. What would your throughput normally be without these alterations? This sort of experimentation sounds fun and beneficial.

I get pretty much full Sprint reception and very good throughput in the areas I frequent, so I wonder how much it would benefit me though. It would be cool to try it out though.

I would say I was around the 200-400kbs in most areas I'm at throughout the day. Now I'm anywhere from 600-1200kbs. So for me this is a no brainer. In fact my favorite hole in the wall I used to be lucky to load this forum in 20 minutes if at all. Tested 2 days ago and got 1.1 and 1.3 mbs. I was floored. That's better than I get at home now Lol.

The prl I'm currently on is 01337 which taps into old alltell/verizon towers. And I have the eris radio 2.41.04.02.02. I have another prl which is strictly verizon(52299) and you always roam but roaming is free. And a couple other radios and prls to play with.

If you would like some of them I can point you in the right direction or send them to you. But it is a lot of fun to mess with the dialer codes and msl again. I have definitely manually changed my prl multiple times a day experimenting.
