Root Best ROM or Most Used ROM?

Right now I'm running the Warm Z twopointtwo ROM and looking for a change. It's nice, I love the Wifi Hotspot it came with as well as the orientation being able to go side to side but I want a change so tell me which is the best you've used.

I've also used MIUI, Fresh (lots of Fresh like Gold), Evio, HTC Stock, and a few others.

The things I want most in a ROM are customizable, faster speeds, best battery life (Warm Z 2.2 is amazing for that), and more space for applications on the internal memory (ran out of memory on Warm Z 2.2 :/)

So tell me your favorite or most used and what was so nice about it. If possible, maybe a link so I can download it. Thank you!

mikfroyo and koni's elite has always been great roms. they are super fast and smooth. but i love cm7.0.3.1 right now. couple that with the tiamat kernel, i am getting the best battery life so far.

Those look super sexy!! Here are links to pictures to anyone curious:

Another to add would be what is added to your response would be things that are enabled and disabled. One of the things I didn't like about this Warm Z is that 4G and front camera are all disabled. But orientation change and hacked Sprint Wifi Hotspot have been enabled. Another thing I didn't like is that it seems that 3G connectivity has been GREATLY hurt in this ROM. Like it goes super slow, slower than when it wasn't rooted.

In these two you mentioned, were 4G and front camera disabled?

nope. both those roms have everything working. what i like best about those roms is that they are super stable, fast(lightning fast), and very smooth. great roms!

but i have moved on to aosp(cm7) and most of those types of roms have everything working. they do take a little more tweaking then most are used to, but they are super nice roms as well.

+1 on CM7....I'm stuck on that ROM!

I use Kings GB r2, a variant of CM7, with a Tiamat kernel. Smooth and snappy, good battery life, everything works. You mentioned you were looking to free up RAM for apps; AOSP runs much, much leaner than a Sense ROM.

If you do go with AOSP, be sure to keep a nandroid of a Sense ROM on your card. You can't update your PRL from AOSP, you have to periodically restore Sense, do the update (not a system update, just the PRL), then restore back to AOSP.

Very cool! I'm running Koni's Elite right now. It is lightning fast and does seem to be really smooth. I love the look of it too although my wifi is a bit off...I'm wondering if it's the phone or my service or wifi router...

I'm going to keep the others in mind, definitely ASOP ROMs as I never really knew what the difference was in performance til now.

I may try another next week if I don't like this one or want something more. This ROM does seem to have everything I want and need in a ROM though.

if you like performance and want aosp, try kings gb r3 or r4. [KingsROM][ACS] NEW KingsROM Ultra BeatDown GB-R4 [GBKUB]-5/5/11] " BRUTAL " - xda-developers

it is extremely fast and stable. i really dislike the theme in r4, however.

I used Warm Z r1 and Warm TwoPointTwo r5 for months with Netarchys SBC Kernels... I just went back to CM7 (I hated it when CM7 first came out b/c of problems) ... well All I can say is Wow. CM7 works flawlessly, the rom included kills any Warm Roms with SBC Kernels. I love Sense... but I'll be going ASOP until I can find something better)

Not a fan of MIUI and guess I need to try Kings

I'm a fan of Kings, and recommend his stuff. Also Cyanogen, imo, is at the apex of custom roms. The Evio roms are also worth looking into, I think they run sense 2.0 now, but don't quote me on that. :D

If you're talking Calkulin's EViO roms, then no, no sense 2.0;)

Right now any rom is a good rom, most of developers for the EVO produce great roms. Right now, I'm enjoying MikG v0.59 from aamikam. This rom is nice and fast with the Sense 2.1 with the Sense 3.0 lock screen with the icons on the lock screen. It also has the 3.0 message. I highly recommend this rom. He may be bringing out v1.0 soon.
