I wonder are there any application that will enable of the function.Google please update the phone.Samsung galaxy S has all these and why is it absent in Nexus S. They are identical. It seems Nexus One is more capable then Nexus S after Cyanogen Mod. Hopefully Cyanogen Mod for Nexus S will be able to update all these flaw.

It's true that the Nexus S has essentially the same hardware as the Galaxy S (a phone that came out a good 6 months prior to the Nexus S), but I wouldn't say it's behind the Nexus One.

Just because it doesn't have 720p recording or a digital zoom doesn't mean it's old or low quality. Most people agree that video taken with the Nexus S is actually better quality than the 720p mode of the Galaxy S. As far as a digital zoom is concerned, it's FAR better to crop photos afterwords to get that effect since digital zooming is essentially an on-the-fly filter that does a very poor job at enlarging the photo. If you really want it, there are plenty of camera apps in the marketplace that can do it.

An FM transceiver would have been a nice addition, but I know that I would hardly use it. Streaming audio over FM radio is great, but the quality is pretty bad; plus, out of all my friends' cars, only one lacks an auxiliary port. As far as receiving FM radio is concerned, most of the good stations are available through internet streaming anyway.

I don't know what you mean by native 3G calls. The Nexus S works fine on the 3G networks it's intended for.

I admit, I was a little disappointed by the specs, expecting a dual core CPU at the least, even hopeful for the Exynos processor that's in the Galaxy S II phones, so it was pretty disappointing to find out the Nexus S was launching with six month old hardware. Still, the SGX540 GPU in the Nexus S does well to keep up with the first gen (dual-core) Tegra 2 phones. I plan to upgrade to the Nexus 3 when it comes out, but if the Nexus S had the Exynos processor, I'd probably keep it a bit longer.

I have used both the galaxy s and nexus s for a few months and have also these gripes with the nexus in comparison to galaxy s.

The screen scratches easier. Galaxy s got more abuse and has zero marks. The nexus is full of scratches with no real difference in use.

Also the video format .3gp (or something like that) is by no means as good as galaxy s and why is it a non standard format (avi or MP4).

Head phone jack on the bottom is a disaster when the phone is in your pocket. (should be at the top) at least the usb is at the bottom. So stupid having it at the top in the galaxy s. Awkward for charger docks, cradles etc.

If you don't want to wait 6 months for the current version of android, you buy a Nexus S.

Actually, .3gp is a much more common format for mobile phones than .avi or .mp4. Try sending a video clip in .avi format to a friend with a multimedia or messaging phone; odds are he won't be able to play it, while a 3gp video would work just fine.

3gp, mp4, and avi are all just media containers anyway. 3gp still supports almost all of the same codecs you'd find in an avi or mp4 container. The only difference is that 3gp will work with MMS services and legacy devices. As for playing it back on a computer, it's a lot easier to install a media splitter that supports 3gp than it is to find some magical way to convert an mp4 to 3gp on my phone so that I can send a video text to a buddy.

@dandroid11 Honestly I believe the placement of the headphone jack is great especially if you put your phone in your pocket. If you think about it a little harder you'll get what I'm saying. If not then here, most of the time you should want your phone to be upside down if its in your pocket so that when you reach for it your phone will come out prepositioned to being upright in your hand. Having the headphone jack on top and doing the same thing would cause the phone to be upside down when pulled out of pocket.

I've owned the nexus s for 2 glorious months. Never have any complaints besides that the GPS is a fugazi. There is no lag time on anything on the phone much unlike the mytouch 4g, that I own also. The lost of zoom shouldn't bother true android fans the less running on the phone the better performance.
