Help, hate my DX

Ok, so I'm a noob, but I'm trying to figure out if a different rom will solve this issue I've had with my rooted DX (does it when not rooted also). Randomly, no rhyme or reason, my sound for the person I'm talking to goes out. Verizon has sent me 6 replacement dx. Nothing matters, even restoring to factory, still does it......any suggestions? Help please, because of this reoccurring issue I'm HATING this phone!!!

This might sound silly, but could you accidentally be touching the mute button either with your finger or your cheek? There have been numerous accounts of calls being ended on Samsung Galaxy S phones by the cheek brushing the end call button.

That does sound silly but very possible.

very weird. The DX's strong point is its hardware. Sorry for your trouble.
