Help with Folder Organizer?

Take a look at Apps Organizer (Fabio Collini) first. I think the concept is more obvious. It lets you organize your apps into user-defined groups. Examples might be games, news, reference, GPS, utilities, etc.

I haven't figured out how Folder Organizer would be any more useful to me than Apps Organizer.

Folder Organizer isn't very intuitive to start with, but once you've worked it out, it's extremely easy:

First create a "New Label" (first item in the bottom menu), this creates a new folder type, a good example might be for all your navigation apps, so call it "Navigation" and leave "Manually choose items" ticked. Then click "Labels" and find your newly created label in the list. Click the down arrow next to it and select "Icon" and find the most appropriate icon for navigation apps.

After this, select "Apps" in the main menu. This will list all apps installed on your phone. Find your first navigation type app and select the down arrow next to it and select "Labels" from the menu that pops up, now tick "Navigation" and press OK. This puts that app into the newly created "Navigation" folder. You might also notice that you can tick more than one label, this allows you to put that app into more than one folder should you wish to do so. Continue to carry out the same action on all of the navigation-type apps you would like to include in the folder.

When you've finished adding all of your apps to the folder, exit and go back to your home screen and add a widget (if you're not sure how, find a blank space, 1x1 should be enough, and press and hold in the blank space), scroll down and select "Folder Organizer Folder Link". From the menu that pops up find "Navigation" and select it. This will drop a new 1x1 widget onto the home screen. Now when you click that icon a folder will open containing links to all of the apps that you added to the folder.

There are other widget types you can add too, but play with it and see what you prefer.
