Well I've been out of actual phone service for almost 2 months now. I love the phone but it's just not practical anymore.

I'm thinking about since I only use it on Wi-Fi any more I perhaps move onto a Android Tablet solution.

The Dell Steak 7 Tablet PC looks like a good choice but it's only 2.2. I'm not really having luck finding a Gingerbread or Honeycomb tablet that suits my price range or feature demands.

Built in GPS and fully functional Flash Player is a must. I just don't know where to look.

Only thing I don't like about the Streak is the it has some sort of proprietary charger port, kinda like all Apple stuff does, and you can't just use a mini-usb cable to charge it meaning I'd also have to purchase some sort of cable for my car for on the road. Already have a car charger for my Optimus M but Dell wants to make it difficult.

Oh wait. Nevermind that. Apparently it's a docking port I'm talking about which is not the same as the charger port I guess. Guess you can connect some sort of keyboard adapter to it with that.

oops scratch that. The charger cable looks similar to the iPod Touch cable. You have to buy a car kit from Dell for $40 that gives you the charger and the window/dash mount.

I too am moving on from the optimus, I want faster service at the cheaper rate and with boost now having a usable cdma android phone that is where I am going. When I got metro I thought all there service was $40 or $35 on the family plan it was a bit of a shock to me to find that android only available on the $50 plan.
Then on top of that with dial up speeds or less its no good to me either. I bought the phone march 1st and never renewed service on it, canceled my service with metro may 1.

My wife and I are only paying $45 for each phone on a family plan. It's the $50 plan with $5 off because we got 2 lines. 'Course, we have the insurance as well so that adds to it, but were paying $100 a month.

I know what you mean. When I signed up I was paying $45 for mine and $35 for her's. What I mean was I was expecting to pay $35 for each, $70 total.

But After using the 1x data I was ready to switch as I can't stand the dialup speeds.

Before I got these phones I had alltel and we were on the $89 plan 900 mins of talk with text and mms no web we were paying about $105 after taxes and assorted.
I wanted to pay significantly lower or have a lot more bang for the buck.

Unlimited text and talk and web is more bang for the buck but when the data rate is so slow its unusable (to me) so that negates the benefit.

I think I got a pretty good deal. I'm on the optimous paying 50. My wife's on 4g and daughter on 4g . I am getting 10 dollars off for each of of them.

Just bought a Dell Streak 7 at Staples today. Will have a video review up Sometime tonight or tomorrow. This thing can be toyed with and flashed with custom roms according to XDA forums. Should be fun but I hope I don't blow it up. LOL!

Hey i was looking at a acer tab, had a 10 inch screen 3.0 android, but the cost was 500 dollars, that dell is priced under 300, Remember tablets are not made to replace computers and are for entertainment purposes, I am not paying 500 dollars for a tablet lol, Can you let me know how that tablet works out.

That's the Inconia. It looks bad ass. I played with it for a bit but wasn't paying $449. That's what Staples wants.

Anyway, supposedly I can flash a rooted custom rom to this and bump it up from 1GHz to 1.4GHz and some other neat stuff.
