is there anychance you could do a ctrl-alt-del one by anychance with just the main characters in? you know...ethan, lilah, lucas and Zeke the xbox robot

Ah! I see. Those guys aren't some kinda newfangled SF fighters (which doubtless would have been vastly inferior to the ones I grew up with! ), their from the web comic. DOH! Took me a bit of searching to figure that one out.

Anyway, here you go. Good images of individual characters are few and far between. I did the best I could with what I could scavenge up. Sorry if all the people you wanted aren't there. Hope you like it.

I was thinking 4 shelves with 2 spaces each, one on the right and one on the left. I haven't flashed the ROM yet, so I can't place the icons in order to get the shelves over the Sense dock, but I can try and dig up a picture of it to show you how much space it takes up.

I forgot to mention, I resized the icons to fit better on my screen. The ones I used for the dock I made are (w x h) 88 x 72 pixels. If you want to scale the icons down to a size you think would work better for my screen, just let me know and I'll post the four I need.

Hey - Maybe I'm just a little burned out tonight, but I'm just not getting the arrangement your asking for. I'll take a fresh look tomorrow and see if I'm thinking more clearly, but I'd say chances are good I'll have more questions.

Yeah, I didn't really think they were - Sorry again. It's just that the pics I could find of those characters were small and only parts of each of them were visible or in wildly differing styles. Would have been a little much for me to make a cohesive grouping of those little bits & pieces.

But hey - At least you got something you like! Thanks for letting me know.

no I totally understand, I know how hard it is to try and find seperate *clean* pics of the main characters that *ARENT* part of the comic strip itself...which would then involve cutting them carefully out etc...

trust me, I know, I tried to do something like this myself a few days ago and gave up lol

and actually the wallpaper you've done for me is now making me re-evaluate how I have my icons etc now just so I can now maximise the amount of wallpaper showing

No worries. I only got about 4 hours of sleep last night, so I'm just as burned out and not focused. Not to mention my brain practically died when I saw the amount of work I had to do over the summer for my AP English 4 class (22 sections of the bible, about 13 stories for mythology, and 3 books plus assignments). There went most of my summer. >.>

I threw this together quickly using an old wallpaper you made me for me, hopefully this makes a little more sense then my rambles.

Except the shelves would be raised a little bit to accommodate the Sense dock. If I get around to flashing the ROM sometime after school, I'll post a screenshot to show you where the dock is.

Whew! You just made my day. I was pretty happy with the way that one came out, so I'm glad you liked it as-is. Thanks for letting me know.

I think it's the left to right focal point in the picture that makes the scrollability of the wallpaper really stand out. It's something you probably already know but I haven't seen any wallpapers from anywhere make use of it this well.

I had to google that as my Street Fighter knowledge has not been used in....well since...well lets just say a long time ago...

and to be fair, I couldn't care bout the fighters and their 'sexy' moves I just like how eyebeam did it with the fade and how the implied scrolling is in it..

The Scorpion harpoon one is a great idea. I can see it being more challenging though, as the hadouken is visually more dramatic than most other long range moves so it's probably easier to make a dramatic looking wallpaper with it.

But eyebeam has surprised me before so let's see what he pulls out of his photowizardry hat.

Scorpion's Harpoon - back, back, low punch
Subzero Freeze - back, down, forward, low punch

those are from the original genesis and snes versions of MK1

Heres the wallpaper with the icons added in. I probably didn't do the best job of adding them, but I don't think I did horrid either.
It also occurred to me that I can place a widget of some kind "on top" of both of the shelves. Not sure what yet, but I'm sure I'll find something.

Ok, that's pretty good. Now the question is can you get the icons to line up when the wallpaper is on the phone.

I thought ahead this time. I plan on just adding the icons to the finished product, and then using either a transparent icon or transparent Minimalistic Text widget that opens the app in question. Either one would work.
As for other ideas, I don't really have any right now. Depending on what I stumble upon as far as skins for Sense, I might have an idea for making the clock look like a part of the background, but that can come later. The background light idea is fine, and if you think of anything else you think would look good, feel free to toss it in there. Tis your creation.
