I have mine now......

I am sorely tempted. It will be nice to wash the stink of my Galaxy i7500 from my hands. Performance issues are what most worry me though reports seem not to regard this as an issue.

What perfomance issues worry you?

my wife has a Milestone, I had a Samsung gallaxy Apollo.
It's way quicker than these, and batter life is close to 2 days with my average use.

I am just waiting for some of the other networks to pick this up and the price to drop slightly before I get mine. At the moment, it's cheaper to buy this SIM free than on PAYG!

I read on a couple of blogs the other day that it was stated the Wildfire S has Gorilla glass? Is that right - seems unlikely to me?

Thanks.
Yes, it does seem as though it's gorilla glass.
I'm in the UK, on T-Mobile it costs me

Hiya Jethro - I'm looking at buying an Android phone & had a quick go on one today in a shop and was pleasantly surprised!

Out of interest, I know it won't be the ideal phone for the purpose, but I would want to write the odd blog post from one occasionally when away from home. Just wondered whether you had tried the official 'Blogger' app?

Also when viewing a blog in the shop the phone wouldn't display the banner & an embedded Youtube clip, but I didn't have time to ask whether that was down to the phone being a shop demo or not :>/

The Camera seemed easy enough to use though - esp' the touch focus.

It'll be an original Desire otherwise - love the size of the Wildfire though - looks a proper gadget :>)

Updated to add:- Guess i'll find out when it arrives (no instant gratification unfortunately) in two weeks!

I got my Wildfire S from Amazon sim free on Wednesday. Be aware that the stock messages app does not work properly. It sent 50 texts on its own to people in my phone book when I was asleep. I am now using Handcent, which works well. Apart from this I am pleased with it. This is my first smartphone. I use it on o2.

I picked one up from the Vodafone store in Oxford yesterday. Enjoying it very much so far. It will be interesting to see how I get on with it during the rest of the week after I return to work tomorrow.

All my favourite apps installed without any difficulty and I even have a few more now that were not available for my POS Samsung Galaxy running Android 1.5 :)

My 12 year old daughter has been eyeing it enviously but I have made it clear I expect a full 12 months use out of it myself before I think about a replacement and it becomes hand-me-down material :)
