We still can't get the Amazon App of the day.

Correct, but get it anyways. Once you get it, even if you do not install it, you have it free forever. So when we do get the unlock, you can still install it.

OR if you do not want to root your device but still install it, download the app store from Amazon, use the sideload wonder machine to install it. Then sign up and get PvZ. When it downloads and fails to install, backuout and then open the app "Files" and navigate to the folder /android/data/com.amazon.venezia/cache. The downloaded apk will be in there. Then use the sideload wonder mechine to install it. It is a lot of work, but it is a fun game, esp since it is free.

You can still buy and download however without rooting OR sideloading, you cannot install the apps. Well at least until sideloading is made available to us.

I don't think this is possible until you have downloaded and installed the Amazon appstore. Which we can't do. I wish I was wrong, but I don't think so.

Sorry, skipped that. Yes you are correct, you would have to at least sideload the amazon app to buy apps.

I used the Sideload Wonder Machine and let me tell you, it's a slight pain in the tush, but man oh man does it work! I now have the Amazon apppp store, Plants vs. Zombies, and today's (6-1-11) free treat: Pac-Man!

It's worth it. It's a pain, but it is worth it. Now all we need is someone to make a version of the SWM that works on the Atrix itself.

Using SWM, I was able to sideload Amazon's app store to my Atrix. I downloaded the free app of the day, but it still won't let me actually install it. So I'm wondering, blsisko, what procedure you used to actually install the app on your phone?

Ah. Nevermind, the procedure outlined above actually worked out (grabbing the .apk out of Amazon's cache, copying it over to SWM's "push" folder, and using it to install). Thanks anyway!
