Help Video Recording is TERRIBLE on DX2 any fixes?

Ok, so I rooted and froze Flash, and a bunch of other junk apps. It looks like the record and playback video is working properly now. I'll do more testing when I get a chance, but I did do a few 3-5 minute shots and none show any blurred or dropped frames.

Anyone have an answer about the size of the internal card?

If u use titanium backup take a look at the first screen, it shows the memory amount for the SD card and internal. See if u fan make sense of if. Lol

Im actually amazed at how many defects this phone has....the nerve to boast about the ability to record in 720P...its a joke....you shouldnt have to root it,freeze apps, and redirect the video to internal storage to get decent recording.I tested the DX2 against my DX back to back, there is no comparison...everything about the video is better on the DX,the colors, the playback is clear and smooth, crisp video quality. The DX2 is a joke, stuttering, skipping, and jumping. Then it reboots....does it all over again. The only thing better about the DX2 camera is it does take a picture faster...but what good is it if the quality is so poor. The gallery is a joke too, cluttered with bloat, and not easy to navigate, its an eyesore, and a data hog.Between this and the skipping music player, that jumps from song to song,it just makes me wonder....did anyone even try this thing for a full weekend before they released it? Such a shame,I believe the DX2 is a quality device, with major software issues...

Still recording/playing back w/out issue on my wife's DX2, stock SD card...

Watched a bunch of flash on several flash sites, both interactive animated and flash video, went back and recorded again, zero issues w/record or playback.

Seems like this could be a HW issue that is affecting some phones, and/or an issue related to particular sequence of actions w/the phone that need to be replicated. Clearly from my experience w/my wife's phone this isn't an issue that affects all DX2s. Have any of you considered exchanging for a replacement DX2?

What are you recording? I don't doubt that you aren't experiencing problems, but I highly doubt these are isolated instances. There is a problem writing to memory fast enough and benchmark write and read from sd scores are low without any doubt.

Recorded inside my house, as I was sitting on my couch working at the time...panned around the room continuously, jiggled the X2 up and down, keeping it in motion the entire time on two or three separate recordings, and didn't see any jumps or skips in playback and there were no gaps in the audio.

It's worked fine on my wife's phone both times that I've tested it...which is why I'm wondering what the contributing factors are that expose this on some (% unknown) X2s. I played Flash just before doing this to bring that into the equation and didn't seem to have any negative affect, and my wife's phone had been on and in use for two or three days w/out a reboot when I tested.

These things can be frustrating to troubleshoot...I'll take some video again, maybe find some cars that I can shoot as they drive by to see if I can induce the issue.

Without question there is a problem with the video recording in 720p and even below. I noticed the problem when recording my daughter swinging. It was horrible with studdering and ghosting after about 5 sec in. My heart sank. The problem seemed to be random but then I noticed fast moving and bright lighting seems to cause the issue because in dim settings I didn't have a problem. My wife has a Thuderbolt is her video is OK.

I benchmarked the two and the droid x2 had nearly 80& better overall performance but in individual catagories the Thunderbolt has nearly x2 better than the X2. One of these catagories was writing to memory.

By default the video records to an external card. I changed this to internal and guess what? NO PROBLEMS. Its a fix but not the one I want. You can record about 50 min of video in 720p onto the internal storage but then to transfer this to the external card is slow and time consuming. Maybe its the card. Maybe its the lack of RAM with the super fast processor. I don't know. But this is the quick fix. If the issue is not address through a software update or some other fix I will probably return the phone. Its hard to believe someone didn't catch this before it went out the door. I seems every bit of technology I own I am the test dummy and I find the "accident" first drive out.

BTW. On the video is amazing for a phone...really amazing...after the "fix"

So how do we change the default storage for recording video to internal memory?
