Root SBF'd back to stock unrooted...... advice on GB pathway?

Used TBH 2 part method (make sure your downloads are complete)

Install part 1 and then part 2 in order before leaving recovery!!

1. SBF to Froyo
2. Enter recovery on first boot after SBF (this is the yellow exclamation)
3. Wipe data/factory reset
4. Activate phone, but skip the rest (Google sign-in, etc)
5. Z4Root and install Droid 2 Bootstrap
6. Using Droid 2 Bootstrap, reboot into Clockwork Mod Recovery
7. Install part 1 and part 2 from .596 method 2 (I installed the rooted/unsigned version), do not reboot without applying both
8. Enter recovery on first boot after applying both part 1 and part 2
9. Wipe date/factory reset
10. Allow .596 to boot, reinstall Droid 2 Bootstrap, and reboot into Clockwork Mod Recovery again
11. Install .596 deodexed from method 1, reboot
12. Enjoy rooted and deodexed .596 Gingerbread http://www.multiupload.com/RS_SZL9247VL7

Did you install the two zips back to back without rebooting?
Did you verify the MD5 of the files to make sure they are not corrupt.

Did you factory reset after SBF'ing? Before applying the two files.

When I did my wife's it seriously took like 15 minutes to boot the first time after the two files. Also if it is bootlooping did you try factory resetting?

Also if you do the OTA route it is currently unroot'able at the moment as far as I know.

So it still doesn't work after doing the factory reset?

And after the factory reset the apps / data is still there? Because it should be like a brand new phone if you did a SBF and then Factory reset afterwards. Which SBF did you use?

VRZ_MB810_2.3.34_1FF_01.sbf ??

yes, thats the one. Im d/l'ing the GB now. That instantly made the phone receive the update (the wipe)

most apps are there, just not installed....

thanks for the direction/help!

I was able to get into the bootloader. I was trying to get into recovery so I could try and wipe data/cache but that wouldn't work. So, I had to SBF back to .340 AGAIN.

At this point I am so fed up I am ready to do the stock OTA and leave it.

But, I am going to redo the 2-part .596 upgrade and live without it being deodexed because that is where it all went wrong.

On the thread at My DroidWorld where the links are for the downloads, Method 1 is to do the upgrade OTA from VZ.

Method 3 is to install the deodexed .596 file if you already have a previous version of GB.

That is why I asked, BTW...

EDIT: I'm back in business.
