Hey everyone long time lurker first time poster. I had my droid x set up with launcher pro icons even though I haven't tried to root basically stock. So giving my x that launcher pro look without using launcher pro and I was successful in getting that look through folder organizer and desktop visualizer.

Since the update a new dock was added to the droid x and you can change what you want on that dock in terms of apps. What I haven't been able to do yet is add a custom icon for the app on that dock. Anyone know how to go about doing that ( non -rooted stock)?

I have tried desktop visualizer and folder organizer and even though the icon changes in folder organizer it does not change on the dock? Any way this can be done?

im sure there are very complicated ways to do this...like extracting the whole ROM and physically replacing the icon with a new one...but that isn't very practical...

is there a particular reason you have decided to go with the stock launcher over a third party solution??...if its because you like the look of the stock launcher's dock...that is achievable with the third party launchers as well...

I guess because of folder organizer which let me organize everything on the main screen thus having that minimalistic white icon look. So was able to achieve the look I wanted for my x with launcher pro icons app and folder organizer. So really no need for ADW or launcher pro.

Now this gingerbread dock that doesn't allow me to do custom icons is a bit frustrating.

how do you go and use launcherpro and get the default icons. I like the look of it but cant really figure it out. I am new to really customizing my droid. Just getting into it

I would check out GO Launcher, its much more stable than Launcher PRO (paid version) and allows a lot more customization, it's also a lot faster and snappier than Launcher PRO. It also has a pretty cool folder customization function that allows you to create iphone looking folders for whatever apps/widgets/shortcuts you would like to organize.

LPP is better than GO launcher on my phone. I never had any problems with LPP.
