I have a new Charge here freshly delivered through UPS. The manual says to let it charge completely before starting it up which is never what they do when you buy one directly from a store. I've heard both things about charging the battery immediately and letting it die first. What did you do with your new phone?

My understanding is Li-ion batteries themselves have no memeory effect, and thus do not need conditioning, but what I like to is the first few times with a device I like to run the battery down until the device turns off then recharge it again fully. I then only bump charge it. A recent report showed that bump charging rather than constantly draining the battery will make the battery last longer in both effectivness of charge and the life of battery. Someone posted the link somewhere I thought on these forums.
