i have the kings rom unleashed r5 with the black theme and i'm trying to load a custom rom. idk what is goin on but i cant seem to get the rom to load after i do a custom rom. it wont boot past the evo screen. i have tried to wipe cache a davlik. if anyone has some insight please help me.

how long are you waiting? usually the first boot after flashing a rom takes a bit longer then noraml as it has to build dalvik cache. what rom are you trying to flash? can you get to recovery? which one do you have?

at one point i waited about 5 mins. and it doesnt just sit on the screen it actually restarts and comes back on then restarts again. and i already flashed the rom, its the kings rom unleashed r5. and yea i can get to recovery. just forgot to nandroid and really didnt feel like reinstalling the rom and redoing all my customizations.

yep, i did, but to flash the kernal all i did was wipe the cache and davlik. the rom worked fine until i tried to flash the newer kernals.

Sounds like you've pinpointed the problem.....The custom kernel you're attempting to flash probably isn't playing nice with your Evo. Try flashing a different version of *that* kernel and see what happens. Don't forget to wipe cache/dalvik cache (like you did) prior to flashing.

ok 5 minutes is not enough time. i have had roms take more then 15min to boot up. however, the bootloop is not good. try wiping again. i usually wipe system, cache, and dalvik cache twice. then i flash caulkin's format all which also does the same thing as wiping. i really like a clean environment for my new rom to flash into. here it is if you want to try it: Calkulin's_FORMAT_ALL.zip

yea i got that. but it's not the rom that i'm tryna flash. it's the kernal. the rom has already been flashed. then i went back into recovery and flashed again.

Which kernel are you trying? If it's something w/ HAVS or more aggressive HAVS, try something w/ no HAVS or a less aggressive version if *that* kernel has those options.

the kernals i have tried is SavagedZen-2.2.1-CFS-HAVS-signed, Tiamat_Evo-v4.0.3-sbc, Tiamat_Evo-v4.0.4-sbc... i dont know what i have to do. i have flashed forever and a day. but i'm thinkin the rom just doesnt play well wit any custom kernals. but idk cuz others have different kernals
